STARS 9 WINGS 5
Steve Bayagich of the Wings scores twice in the games first 40 seconds, to put the Wings up 2-0 very early in the contest! Didn’t really matter as the Stars fill the Wings net at will. Stars sub Terry Boyette with the trick. Mike Miller with the deuce. Singles for Steve Bittner, Joey Reiss and the Billy’s – Knight and sub Szkodzinski. Scott Bozyk and subs Rob Duff and Danny Caton round out the Wings scoring.
LEAFS 3 BRUINS 2
Wow! Bruins up 2-1 with just over three minutes left in the game. The Leafs score twice in 10 seconds, to absolutely steal this game from the dismayed Bruins! Mike Ala with the Leafs first and game winning goal. “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio with the Leafs middle marker. Leafs net minder Billy Mac Jr. with a helper. Craig Bastuba and Rex Baker both with blue line blasts score for the Bruins. Bruins puck stopper Kirk “Captain America” Larson was simply outstanding in this game with a 45 save effort!
HAWKS 5 HABS 3
Returning from parts unknown – Hawks sub Mark Rogers with a two goal game. Singles for Al Pyc, John “Shifty” Shelton and sub “Tab” Hunter. Jack Leavy, Brian Moore and rushing defenseman Mike Brown score for the Frenchmen.
STARS 3 BRUINS 1
The Stars sweep for the day and the hard working Bruins descend for the day. The Stars receive final period goals from Joey Reiss, Mike Miller and sub Terry Boyette. Todd Brown with the lone Bruins goal.
LEAFS 6 HAWKS 2
Leafs defeat the Hawks by the same exact score as two weeks ago, as the line of Jeff Ivory(3&1), Mike Nalepa(2&3) and Curt Lesnau(1&3) total 13 points in the game and extend the Leafs unbeaten streak to 10 games. The Hawks fight back from a first period 2-0 deficit to tie the game up 2-2 with 10 seconds remaining in the period. The turning point in this game was what happened next. Face off in the Leafs end – 10 seconds left in the period. Jeff Ivory wins the face off back to defenseman Danny Shannon, who goes alley oop to Ivory, as Jeff goes top shelf with a single second left on the clock! It was all downhill from there for the beleaguered Hawks. Dougie Roehl and sub Mark Rogers score for the Hawks in this penalty free game.
HABS 9 WINGS 8
The two top scoring teams in the league definitely do not disappoint in this goalies nightmare of a game. Brian Moore and Robbie Olmstead both with the tour du chapeau! Singles for Mike Krueger, Kyle Lybecker and Bob Rowling. Wings – the leagues leading scorer John McNeilly with the hat trick. “Downtown” Jimmy Brown with a two goal game. Singles for Dana Boyette(Also 3 Helpers), Mike Wilson and sub Robert Duff. The first place Wings lose their first doubleheader of the season as they surrender 18 total goals today! Goaltender Dar was seen ranting and raving and spewing food particles and expletives everywhere! The Brown brothers – Jimmy and Mike both get into it – and hit the box with body checking minors.
