Marty Sell and Jack Jeneraux score two minutes apart in the initial period for the Wings. Dougie Roel and sub Steve Lemieux do the honors for the Bruins. Both goaltenders – Mike Schlimgen and Bobby Rutkoske were outstanding between the pipes!
HABS 5 SHARKS 2
Steve Orr scores his first of two goals on his first shift of the game, to propel the Frenchmen to the W. Mike Lawson also with a deuce. The ever ameliorating David Walters with a single for the Habs. Higgins times two – Eddie and sub “Magnum” tally for the Fish.
HAWKS 4 FLYERS 1
Pat Collins scores 18 ticks into the game for the Flyers. That was all she wrote for the Flyers! James George with the hat trick for the the victorious Hawks. Providence call up Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi with a nice wraparound goal. “Sugar” John Marchin was stellar in nets for the Hawks.
SHARKS 2 WINGS 1
Jimmy “Boog” Powell scores his first of two goals 29 seconds into the game and received standout puck stopping from sub Rick “Ticker” Chauvin. Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence was the only Wing to solve Chauvin, as he goes top shelf on a bad angle shot. Wings goalie Mike Schlimgen with another solid effort in nets.
HABS 5 FLYERS 1
“Brusing” Joe Grusling scores twice for the Habs as they sweep for the day. Singles for Steve Orr and Jeff “Dick” Tracy. Sir Kevin Beebe with a workmanlike effort in nets. Gary Enmark with the Flyers only goal, as they again only score once – and drop a deuce for the day.
BRUINS 7 HAWKS 4
Bruins sub Mr. Steve “Mario” Lemieux records his first career four goal game, as he was everywhere on the ice! Singles for Al Sparks, Counselor Tom McHugh and Adam Godard, who also contributed four helpers. James George tallies twice and five in the night for the Hawks. Al Pyc and Paulie Polizzi with singles.
