After losing their past six games – could this be the game the Hawks win? Up 3-0 halfway through the final period and seemingly in total control of the game – a strange thing happened! The Habs rattle off four unanswered goals in a eight minute span to take a 4-3 lead! But the Hawks receive a fortunate bounce behind the Habs net and Robbie Olmstead backhands the game tying goal into the Habs yawning empty net with 17 seconds left in the game to salvage the tie for the Hawks! Former stretch pass aficionado, Olmstead is playing some of the best hockey of his Sting career. Back-checking, picking up his winger – he is now playing a complete game! Marty Papesh, Timmy “Dutch” Schultz and a on a nice tip, “Scowling” Scott Leslie round out the Hawks scoring. Habs winger Al Pyc was everywhere, as he records the tour du chapeau for the Frenchmen. Laval call up Scott Davenport also with a French goal. No trips to the sin bin for either squad.
WINGS 7 FLYERS 3
2-2 at the end of one period. Then the Wings score five final period goals to defeat the Flyers. Deuces wild for Rob Rowling and Rob’s mentor “Midtown” Mikey Brown. Singles for Benny Hudson, Mike Nalepa and forward Ryan Boyette. Dad Terry with three helpers. Flyers – Steve Bittner(15 seconds into the final period), Mike Miller and Brian Moore.
SHARKS 1 BRUINS 0
A nasty event happened early in this contest, as Bruins sub forward Todd Brown races to the loose puck and avoids the Sharks rushing net-minder – but losses control and crashes feet first into the end boards and snaps his leg right above his ankle! Not good! EMS were called and Todd left the ice on a gurney. Bruins Captain and a relative of Todd, Rex Baker accompanied him to the hospital. Best wishes Todd! The Sharks dip into their farm cub today due to the wine country fires and call up net-minder Mark Lusczki who spins the 1-0 shutout! “Downtown” Jimmy Brown scores the game’s lone goal with just under three minutes remaining in the game. Bruins puck stopper Rodney Heid shined in nets in this penalty free game.

Whoops! The Hawks were finally feeling pretty good about themselves, with the game one tie. Da Sharks brought them back to reality in quick fashion with a five spot in the first period! Jimmy Brown with a two goal game. Singles for Jeff Ivory, Brian Barr, Lou Suvak, Jeff Curran and Jimmy “Jets” Galloway. The Sharks are now in first place in the standings. Hawks – Steve Wink, Scott Leslie and comeback player of the year candidate Robbie Olmstead. Hawks center Donnie Riviera picks up a minor unsportsmanlike penalty.

1-1 at the end of one. Then the Wings totally dominate the Habs! Deuces abound for Ryan and Dad Terry Boyette and Mike Nalepa. Singles for Rob Rowling and sub defenseman Dave “Beach Boy” Wilson. Nate McCoughtry and sub Scott Davenport tally for Habs who vacate the top spot in the standings for the first time this year!
FLYERS 5 BRUINS 2
Taking advantage of the shorthanded Bruins, who played with eight players today, due to the Todd Brown injury and the Rex Baker departure, the Flyers jump out to a 5 zip lead for the W. Mike “King of the Road” Miller with the hat trick. Mike was appropriately dressed today for the post game number one star interview – all decked out in his three piece suit! Line-mate Brian Moore and Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi with singles. John McNeilly and Jeff Funk tally for the Bruins in this penalty free game.
