HAWKS    6    WINGS   1

Mike “King of the Road” Miller leads the Hawks with the trick!  Singles for Marty Papesh and subs Scott Davenport and Larry “School Boy” Rowe.  Sub goaler “Bruce” Sutter was exemplary in nets.  Mike “Padre” Nalepa was the only Wing to solve Mr. Sutter.

BRUINS   7     HABS   4

Habs go up 2-0.  No problem for this high octane Bruins offense.  Dr. Nate McCoughtry with the hat trick.  John McNeilly, Mike Garlick, Chris Isola and Curt Lesnau also with goals.  Lloyd Rogers, Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi and the Robs – Olmstead and Rowling round out the Habs scoring.  Habs net-mider Billy Schaugg with several outstanding highlight reel saves!

FLYERS   7    SHARKS   4

The Flyers win their first game of the season!  Billy “The Dark” Knight scores the Flyers first two goals as his son Trevor shines and watches proudly in nets.  Center Joey Reiss also with the deuce.  Singles for Marcel Dimitri, Jimmy “Jets” Galloway and Mike T. Brown.  “Jumping” Jim Leonardi with the hat trick assist.  Donnie Riviera with the trick for the Sharks.  “Downtown” Jimmy Brown also with a Sharks marker.

WINGS   3    FLYERS   2

I talk about this a lot.  High hockey IQ.  When you young speed burners get a little older, pack on a few more pounds and lose your speed – will you have a high hockey IQ?  Some will – some won’t.  Welcome to my world!  But these two gentleman definitely do have it!  Robbie Duff and Terry Boyette!  Two beautiful tick tack toe passes from sub Rob Duff to Terry Boyette for the Wings first two goals.  It was a thing of beauty to see Duff hit Boyette in the open spot,  just knowing he will be there and seeing Boyette go slam dunk!  High hockey IQ!  Another side bar in this game, was just off the plane from London England, “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio go top shelf back hand for the game winning goal!  A little jet lag has no effect on “Angry”.  He did note his disappointment that he will miss the Royal Wedding on Saturday though.  Joey Reiss and young Marcel Dimitri score for the Flyers.  Both puck stoppers – Winning goalie “Smoking” Joe Polizzi and Flyers sub Trevor Knight with excellent games in nets.

BRUINS   8    SHARKS   4

The top spot Bruins with only one loss on the season, dismantle the reeling Sharks, who are winless in their past six games.  As in game one – Dr. Nate with the trick for a total of six goals in today’s games!  Center John McNeilly with the deuce.  Singles for “Old Man” Jack Priaux, Chris Isola and showing off his immense offensive talents – defenseman Craig Bastuba with a top shelf laser slap shot!  The Brown’s – Jimmy (2) and Mike and Billy Mac Jr. ( Also 3 Helpers) score for the Fish.  Despite the score – Sharks goaltender Scott French with a heavy workload and several outstanding saves!

HAWKS   6    HABS   2

The Hawks sweep for the day as the Frenchmen go in the opposite direction today.  Not missing a beat minus their top center Brian Moore today – sub Scott Davenport with a two goal game.  Singles for Captain John “Shifty” Shelton, Steve “Mario” Lemieux, Jeff Funk and Mike Miller.  The Hawks kill off all four of their penalties as they also score shorthanded twice!  Robbie Olmstead and sub Stacey tally for the Habs.
