HAWKS 2 FLYERS 2
Everyone seems to be playing the Hawks tough these days! Dr. and author Keri Topouzian and Bruce Gooel tally for the Flyers. Terry Masserant and warming up for Wednesday’s Michigan Senior Olympics, Pat Collins tally for the Hawks. Both puck stoppers – Bobby Rutkoske and Flyers sub Rick “Ticker” Chauvin with excellent games in nets..
BRUINS 4 WINGS 2
Bruins Czech sub Niecalek scores the game winning power play goal for the men in yellow. Sniper Chuck Mouraine with the deuce. Adam Godard with the final marker. One of my favorite players, Rick Batchelder with the hat trick assist. Ronnie Meltnser and John “Lazarus” Schroder with the Wings goals.
SHARKS 4 HABS 3
The ageless Al Phipps scores twice for the Fish. His son Mike wonders: “When is Dad going to hang them up?” Singles for Barry Piornack and sub “Magnum” Higgins. Smooth skating Jeff Ivory(2) and John “Hal” McRae tally for the Frenchmen.
BRUINS 2 HAWKS 0
The battle for the top spot in the standings! With one week left(2 Games) in the second half season, the Hawks only hold a precarious one point lead over the surging Bruins, who are 5-0 in their past five games! Don’t count this guy out! He has his name on the Sam Cupp numerous times! I’m talking about Bruins net-minder Mike Mostyn, who absolutely shined in nets today for the whitewash! Way to go Mike! Chuck Mouraine and Mike Harke with the Bruins goals. No Hawks highlights, as forward Mike Ala incurs a solo roughing minor penalty.
WINGS 5 SHARKS 2
Both teams split on the day. Billy Hagen with the natural hat trick in the final stanza. Mike Lawson and Keith Foucher with singles. Marty Sell and Al Phipps tally for the Sharks in this penalty free game.
FLYERS 8 HABS 5
Defense what defense? Habs net-minder Sir Kevin Beebe could be seen muttering all sorts of things through this contest! The high flying Flyers are now undefeated in their past three doubleheaders. Brian Belloli with the trick. Deuces wild for Robert E. Lee and Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel. Sub Steve “Mario” Lemieux also with a marker. Who didn’t score for the Flyers? As in game one – Jeff Ivory with a two goal game for the Habs. Singles for Don Courtley, Jeff Tracy and never taking a shot he didn’t like – Joe Plati.
