As I articulated last week – do NOT sell Habs goalie Sir Kevin Beebe short! The Habs upset the heavily favored Hawks, in this epic Sam Cupp Championship encounter! Sir Kevin had the Hawks talking to themselves, as he turned shot after shot away! Game MVP Jeff “The Rocket” Ivory with the Habs first and final goals, as he amassed 18 goals in 11 playoff games! Grosse Pointe native Cam “Steam Boat” Lawrence with the game winning goal. Hawks sub “Magnum” Higgins was the only Hawk to solve Sir Kevin, in this penalty free game. The Frenchmen played a strong and very disciplined game, as they shut down the high octane offense of the Hawks! A good time was had by all at Joe Kool’s following the game! On the patio at Kools, with the fire flaming, you could see the silhouette of the winning goalie, lighting up a fat stogie!
