HABS 8 FLYERS 3
The battle for first place! Minus Brian Moore today – the kid Zach Wagner picked up the slack with a four goal game! Singles for Craig Maisonneuve, sub JP and the Robs – Olmstead and Giroux. Defenseman Lenny Gerbino with a three helper game. Marty Papesh, Dougie Roehl and Danny Rea tally for the Flyers in this penalty free game.
HAWKS 7 BRUINS 5
Deuces wild for Mike Folster and sub Kothry. Chad Wooten and sub Mickey Moore with singles. “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio with a two goal game for the Bruins. The Bruins also receive goals from Greg Stacey, Mike Garlick and Steve Bayagich.
WINGS 2 SHARKS 2
The Wings rally back from a 2-0 deficit for the tie. Mike Nalepa and scoring with a wide open yawning net – Terry Boyette were the Wings scorers. James Puffer and scoring right off the face-off with no time elapsed on the clock – Lloyd Rogers were the Sharks marksman. Sharks sub goalie Gordon Nadolski was simply amazing in nets, as the Wings completely dominated the final period! Nadolski also picked up a helper.
HAWKS 7 WINGS 4
Whoa! The Hawks play both games today with eight guys! Super sub Mr. Kotary rarely left the ice and amassed a huge six goal game! He was everywhere! He was wearing number six – so he figured why not score six! The old adage goes – doesn’t matter how many players you have – if you have the right players! The Hawks sweep for the day and are on a six game victory streak! Goal-keep Kirk “Captain America” Larson is standing on his head with a perpetual smile on his face! Young Chad Wooten with the game winning goal. Deuces wild for Nick Piccolo and Jimmy “Jets” Galloway. Galloway voices his displeasure at game ends and picks up an unsportsmanlike minor penalty.
FLYERS 4 SHARKS 3
Lloyd Rogers scores his second goal of the game with the goalie pulled to tie the game up 3-3. Flyers right defenseman Danny Rea slaps in a no look shot shot with 12 seconds left on the clock to lift the Flyers into a first place tie with the Habs. Burying a top shelf rebound – Mary Papesh and Flyers subs Kyle Lybecker and Trevor Knight round out the Flyers scoring. Steve Bittner with the Sharks initial goal. Sharks defenseman Pierre Dugas with a questionable four minute slashing penalty on Billy Knight. Pierre chops Knights stick out of his hand. The stick was still intact. Four minutes? The Sharks played with nine guys today due to the continued Silver Alert issued for MIA teammate John Touhy.
BRUINS 6 HABS 1
Baker’s Bruins jump out to a 5-0 first period lead and cruise to the W. Brian Barker with the deuce. Singles for “Angry” Joe, Timmy “Dutch” Schultz, Steve Bayagich and marine Chris Isola. Goal-keep Keith Konnie with an excellent game in nets! Zach Wagner with the lone French marker in this penalty free game. Habs net-minder Joe Polizzi had to leave the game due to injury. His helmet was knocked off and he was inadvertently cut in the head by a skate.
