WELCOME TO ANOTHER STING SEASON AND OUR NORMAL HOURS!
FLYERS 4 BRUINS 2
New Captain Ryan O’Rourke leads his Flyers to the W with a two goal game! Singles for Robert E. Lee and sub “Mickey” Brantley. Puck stopper Mike Allemon stood tall in nets. Steve Lemieux and Chuck Mouraine with the Bruins markers. No trips to the sin bin for either squad.
HABS 3 WINGS 2
The league welcomes back Mike Ala from his very serious injury, who responds in fine fashion with the game winning Habs goal! Cam Lawrence and “Gentleman” Don Courtley also score for the Frenchmen. Goaler Sir Kevin Beebe with an excellent game for the Habs. James George and Al Pyc with the Wings goals.
HAWKS 2 SHARKS 1
The Hawks score twice in the final stanza and defeat the Fish. Billy Hagen and Mike Lawson score for the Hawks. Goalie Mike Mostyn was outstanding between the pipes! Sharks Captain Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich with their lone goal.
HAWKS 2 FLYERS 1
Same score – same result – as the Hawks play another close to the vest game and sweep for the day! Once again, goalie Mike Mostyn shined in nets! New Captain Billy Hagen and Keith Foucher score for the Hawks. This game had a very weird start, as Joe Plati goes top shelf for the Hawks seconds into the game. But – Flyers goalie Mike Allemon was adjusting his equipment and was not ready to play. No whistle was blown and originally the goal was allowed. Both teams lined up at center ice. The refs conferred and disallowed the goal, but gave Allemon a penalty. Seconds later Ryan O’Rourke scores shorthanded for the Flyers. Pretty bizarre!
BRUINS 3 WINGS 3
A very even game as the score indicates. Both teams pick up a point on the night. Chuck Mouraine, Steve “Mario” Lemieux and sub Lawson score for the men in yellow. Wings – James George, Mark Smyth and the venerable Al Pyc.
HABS 5 SHARKS 4
Jimmy “Boog” Powell scores his second goal of the game and snaps a 4-4 tie with just over three minutes left in the contest. Marty Sell also with the deuce. Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence with a single. Deuces wild for Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins and Glenn Pareskevin, as the Sharks drop two close games today.
