Hawks sub Boice with their lone goal as the Hawks are now winless in their past five contests. A nameless Hawk said postgame, “We got too many centers on this team and not enough pucks!”
FLYERS 2 SHARKS 2
The up and coming Sharks are now undefeated in their past two doubleheaders. Big Ben Haynes with both of their goals. As in game one – Joe Plati and Ryan O’Rourke score for the Flyers. Both puck stoppers – Mike Schlimgen and Bobby Rutkoske with numerous highlight reel saves.
BRUINS 3 HABS 2
The top spot Bruins are now undefeated in their past eight games. Steve Lemieux, Curt Bailey and on a beautiful low far side one timer, Rick Batchelder score for the Bruins. The Habs got a pretty rough draw today, playing the top two teams in the league. They played well, losing both games by a single goal. The Jim’s – George and Powell score for the Frenchmen. Bruins goalie Rick “Ticker” Chauvin was outstanding in nets as he foiled two breakaways. Dave Debrincat of the Habs picks up a solo roughing minor penalty.
