WEEK ONE – PLAYOFFS
HABS 5 SHARKS 2
Chris Raber scores the Habs first and final goals as they dominate the Sharks. Singles for Brian Belloli, Robert Stempian and sub Matt Dawson. Steve Dietrich and Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins score for the Sharks.
WINGS 1 FLYERS 0
Bobby Rutkoske stands on his proverbial head and earns the whitewash against the Wings nemesis the Flyers! Kenny Debus bangs in a rebound for the games only goal. Flyers sub net-minder Rodney Heid was also outstanding between the pipes!
BRUINS 3 HAWKS 3
1-1 entering the final stanza. 3-3 at games end. Joe Plati, Rick Batchelder and sub Brian Gross tally for the men in yellow. Billy Hagen(2) and Adam Godard score for the Hawks. Hawks goalie Paul Kaczmarek was a rock star this game, as he had the Bruins continually shaking their heads after being thwarted time after time! This was a penalty free game.
HAWKS 5 WINGS 4
Every time the Hawks would score, the Wings would answer back! Billy Hagen follows up his two goal effort in game one, with a hat trick effort this game! Adam Godard and Dr. Keri Topouzian also with Hawks goals. Wings – Ken Dubus, Keith Foucher, Mark Smyth and sub Dougie Roehl. Another penalty free game.
BRUINS 4 HABS 3
Back from a short stint on the DL with a lower body injury, Rob “Hurricane” Halbhuber scores shorthanded for the victorious Bruins. Singles for Ronnie Meltsner, Rick Batchelder and Mike Lawson. Robert Stempian scores twice for the Habs. Brian Belloli with the Habs final marker.
FLYERS 2 SHARKS 2
The Flyers fight back from two one goal deficits as the game ends in a hard fought tie. Bo Altherr and Bruce “The Enabler” Gooel score for the Fish. Captain Ryan O’Rourke with both Flyers goals. Both puck stoppers – Mike Schlimgen of the Sharks and sub Rodney Heid of the Flyers with excellent games in nets! In honor of Black History Month, the Flyers had a fantastic post game spread(See Picture Below) featuring pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, and many other edibles and libations!
