WE LOST A GOOD ONE LAST WEDNESDAY!
MY GOOD HOCKEY FRIEND OF OVER 40 YEARS – RONNIE HINGST!
RONNIE WAS A BOARD MEMBER AND SECRETARY OF THE MICHIGAN STING IN THE EARLY YEARS AND
THE LONG TIME CAPTAIN OF THE STORIED TOURNAMENT TEAM CALLED THE FOGS.
THE CLEAN VERSION OF THE NAME IS “FAIRLY OLD GUYS.” YOU CAN FIGURE OUT THE REAL NAME!
BELOW IS A PICTURE OF THE FOUR ORIGINAL MEMBERS WHO WENT TO QUEBEC IN 1975!
OBVIOUSLY THE PICTURE WAS NOT TAKEN IN 1975, BUT WAS TAKEN IN QUEBEC, IN YEAR 25 OF 30 YEARS YEARS OF ATTENDING.
I’M ON THE LEFT AND RONNIE IS NEXT TO ME.
RIP BUDDY!
BRUINS 8 HAWKS 3
Wow! Complete domination this game, as the Bruins had no less than ten breakaways in the game, flying by the Hawks D time after time! Besieged Hawks goalie Tommy Gazley remarkably kept the score in single digits, proclaiming he was the loneliest man on the ice! Pro fisherman Boyd Duckett lookalike(See Picture Below) Mr. Jeff Tracy with a huge four goal game! Jeff was using his new Bauer hockey stick gifted by Marcin Niecalek, who didn’t like the stick. I believe that’s not the case with Jeff! Deuces wild for line-mate Bo Altherr and using a helmet from the locker, since he forgot his – Chuck Mouraine. Sub Mike Garlick, Jeff Morton and on a beautiful pass from behind the net from Mark Smyth – Brian Belloli score for the Hawks.
SHARKS 2 WINGS 1
Kamloops call up “Franz” Neilsen scores both Sharks goals! Goalie Brian Miller was excellent between the pipes! Bruce Buntin with the lone Wings goal. Kudos to Wings goalie Dave Gaskey who also shined in nets.
FLYERS 3 HABS 2
A hard fought contest as Captain Ryan O’Rourke scores the game winning goal. Robert Stempian and Jimmy George also tally for the Flyers. Goalie Bobby Rutkoske was his usual puck stopping self. Mike Ala and sub Matt Lawson score for the Frenchmen.
WINGS 5 HAWKS 2
The Wings break the 2-2 first period tie with the hat trick in the final period. Rushing defenseman Dave Debrincat with a two goal game. Singles for Marcin Niecalek, Keri Topouzian and sub Jimmy “Boog” Powell. Hawks sub Rob “Nifty” Middleton with both of their goals. The woebegone Hawks are now winless in their past nine contests.
SHARKS 4 FLYERS 2
Da Sharks sweep on the day and unceremoniously snap the Flyers five game winning streak, as they are now tied for the top spot in standings with the Wings! Keith Foucher, “Black” Jack Priauix, Todd Schurman(EN) and sub Neilson were the Sharks goal scorers. Flyers – Pat Berry and sub Matt Linnell.
BRUINS 1 HABS 1
The Habs play a great game and completely dominate the final period, as they definitely deserved the two points in this game. Habs centers Mike Ala and sub Matt Lawson never lost a face-off in the final period, as the Bruins rarely got the puck out of their end! Bruins goalie Mike Schlimgen was simply outstanding this game! Habs sub goalie “Ticker” maybe had ten shots on net. Sub Matt Lawson with the Habs breakaway goal. Steve Lemieux with the Bruins breakaway goal. The Habs once again played with nine players and three D. This has been a very concerning recurring theme for them. If you have the right three D, you have a definite advantage. Addition by subtraction?
Which player has won the most Stanley Cups and how many?
