The turning point of this game, was Wings forward Marcin Niecalek breaking the scoreless tie, scoring his first two of three goals in a 15 second span in the first period!  Doug Beck with the Wings final marker.  Puck stopper Dave Gaskey with the well deserved whitewash!  No Hawks highlights in this penalty free game.

SHARKS   3     FLYERS   3

With the goalie pulled – Robert Stempian scores his second goal of the game to pull them even with the Sharks.  Al Sparks with the Flyers middle goal.  Sharks sub Adam Godard goes twine twice and Ben Haynes once for the Fish.

BRUINS   3     HABS   0

Mike Schlimgen of the Bruins records his third consecutive shutout!  Steve Lemieux, Dougie Roehl and Jeff Tracy tally for the men in yellow.  No French highlights in this penalty free game.

WINGS   7    FLYERS   3

The Wings hold onto the top spot by a point over the charging Bruins, as they sweep on the day!  Power forward Marcin Niecalek scores twice for a total of five goals on the night!  Singles for Doug “Jeff” Beck, Dave Debrincat, sub John Siterlet and the Bruce’s – Gooel and Buntin.  The speedy Jimmy George scores twice for the Flyers.  Sub Bob “Bugsy” Watson with a single.

The Hawks play a great game and send the goal starved Habs, who did not score in today’s games, to a nine game winless streak!  Tommy Gazley with the shutout!  Sammy “The Bull” Bonanno and buddies Chuck Bowers and reaching way into the deep minors, sub Rex Baker score for the Hawks.

BRUINS   1    SHARKS   0

Setting a new Michigan Sting record with his fourth consecutive shutout and seeing the puck like a beachball – hats off to Bruins net-minder Mike Schlimgen!  Mike has simply been outstanding, as the Bruins are 6-0-1 in their past seven games and a single point behind the first place Wings with four games left in the season’s first half and awaiting next weeks big showdown.  Jeff “Dick” Tracy tommy guns in the games only goal just 44 ticks into the game as he goes top shelf stick side!   Sharks goalie Brian Miller with several outstanding saves in the game!  The person in charge of the Bruins cooler forgot to bring it today.  Below is Mike Schlimgen displaying the Bruins makeshift cooler!
