The Wings unceremoniously snap the Hawks three game winning streak. “Smoking” Joe Polizzi with the well earned whitewash! Bob Giroux, Ryan Boyette and Nate and Zach Wagner dent the twine for the Wings. No Hawks highlights.
FLYERS 8 SHARKS 5
Flyers forward Mr. Billy Reiss records his first four goal game since the advent of the composite hockey stick! Trevor Wrobel and Lyle Lovett lookalike(See Picture Below) Ward Peterson with two goal games. Mark Rogers with three helpers. The Sharks get the Italian connection going, as sub Tringali with the trick and fellow sub “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio and regular Nick Piccolo with singles.
BRUINS 3 HABS 3
Anthony Amato scores his second goal of the game to put the Habs up 3-2 with four minutes remaining in the contest. Bruins power forward Mike Nalepa promptly scores his second goal of the game exactly one minute later and hence the tie! Moncton call up Mike Ala with the Habs initial marker. “Midtown” Mikey Brown with the Bruins middle marker. Both goalies – Billy Schaugg of the Habs and Gordy Nadolsky of the Bruins with very good games in nets! This was a penalty free game.
WINGS 2 FLYERS 2
This was a rough and tumble game as the Wings hit the box six times and the Flyers five! Craig Bastuba scores the shorthanded game tying goal for the Wings with just under a minute left in the game! Steve Bayagich with a power play goal for the Wings. Mark Rogers with both Flyers goals. Mark’s first goal was on the power play. Mark Rogers and Craig Bastuba hit the box in tandem with roughing minor penalties. Bob Giroux of the Wings incurs an equipment violation minor penalty. Whatever that is? Goalie Joe Polizzi of the Wings had the glove hand working this game! Returning from a lengthy sabbatical and lower body surgery – Dar was excellent in nets for the Flyers!
HABS 3 HAWKS 1
The battle for second place as the undefeated in their past ten games Habs, leap frog over the Hawks. Returning from his week vacation, Habs goalie Billy Schaugg shined in nets! Rob Rowling scores twice for the Frenchmen. Sub Mike Ala with their first goal. Paul Elsey Jr. with the lone Hawks goal.
BRUINS 9 SHARKS 6
Katie bar the door in this game! Getting fired up for his high school’s(Everest Academy) regional football playoff game this Friday – Mike “Padre” Nalepa with the hat trick! Mike’s two final goals were unassisted shorthanded goals on the same shift! Deuces wild for Jim Robie and Jeff Steiber. Singles for Mikey Brown and sub “Bobby” Mercer. Jamie Smith and sub Chuck Bowers both with three assist games. Having a fine breakout season, John Cornish with a 3 & 3 game for the Sharks! Nick Piccolo with the deuce. Sub Tringali with the Sharks final goal.
