REX BAKER, CHUCK BOWERS, AL PYC AND TODD BROWN!
CONGRATS GUYS!
HAWKS 3 HABS 1
Hawks puck stopper Bobby Rutkoske left the French guys shaking their heads time after time with his superlative effort between the pipes! Fresh off his trip to Kansas City to cheer the Detroit Lions 0n – power winger Jeff Morton with the Hawks final two goals! Sub Mark Linnell with the Hawks initial marker. John “The Little Ball of Hate” Perini was the only Hab to solve Rutkoske.
BRUINS 2 SHARKS 2
Bruce Gooel scores 32 ticks into the game for the Fish. Rob Lee secures the tie for the Sharks with a late final period goal. Mike Harke and Joe Plati do the honors for the Bruins. Goalies Brian Miller and Mike Schmligen with outstanding games in nets!
FLYERS 4 WINGS 0
The Flyers dominate this game behind the hat trick efforts of Pat “Crazy Legs” Berry, who was everywhere on the ice! Left winger Johnny “On the Spot” Dooley taps in a juicy rebound for the Flyers first goal. Flyers rookie goalie Mike Haines with the whitewash. No Wings highlights. Wings goalie Superman has a long held tradition that whenever his team accomplish’s a shutout, he brings shrimp next week for his teammates in an appreciative effort. Rumor has it is that he starting a new tradition. Whenever his team gets shutout, he will bring kale next week! Ouch!
HAWKS 4 SHARKS 4
The marquee game of the night! Hawks down 4-3 with just a little over four minutes left in the contest. The Sharks pick up a minor penalty. Hawks Captain Billy Hagen makes a bold and successful move of pulling his goalie for a 6 on 4 advantage. Guess what? It worked – as Adam Godard sneaks in a short side goal for his second goal of the game! Rick Batchelder scores a minute into the game for the Hawks. Billy Hagen goes five hole three minutes later. Dave DeBrincat, Rob Lee, Bruce Gooel and Todd Schurman score for the first place Sharks who are 2-0-2 and still undefeated in this young season. The Sharks had a couple of real nice tic tack toe goals. Hawks sub Rick Neilson and Dave DeBrincat both with roughing minor penalties.
BRUINS 4 FLYERS 0
The Bruins and goalie Mike Schlimgen play a methodical game and pick the Flyers apart. Steve Lemieux, Mike Harke, Doug Wargo and Dougie Roehl tally for the Bruins in this penalty free game. No Flyers highlights as they were missing their catalyst defenseman Kevin Maguire today, as it was rumored he fell off a golf cart or something to that effect at last week’s Sting golf outing, suffering a lower body injury.
HABS 3 WINGS 2
The Habs keep the Wings winless on the season, as Sammy Bonanno proudly wearing number nine of the Bleu, Blanc et Rouge and looking very much like Rocket Richard this game, buries two goals on beautiful tape to tape passes from the opposition! Moncton call up John Higgins with the game winning breakaway goal. A little side note here. I have never witnessed Higgins NOT scoring on a breakaway! The guy is money! Brian Belloli and on a solo superb effort going top shelf on a 1 on 4 highlight reel goal – sub Matt Dawson score for the Wings, who actually held the territorial advantage this game.
