I PATRONIZED THIS TIKI BAR IN FLORIDA FOR A FINE LUNCH!!

WEEK THREE – PLAYOFFS

HABS   6    FLYERS   1

Whoa!  The French guys hand the top spot Flyers their first L of the playoffs – in convincing fashion!  Winger Robbie Porter with a 2 & 2 game.  Singles for Rob Lee, Don Courtley and in my humble opinion – the leagues long time top defenseman – Kenny “Prime Time” Wilkins.  Puck stopper “Sugar” John Marchin continues to shine in nets!  Ryan O’Rourke was the only Flyer to slip the puck past him in this penalty free game.

SHARKS   2    HAWKS   0

Enjoying a resurgent season if you will – Superman with another well earned whitewash!  See picture below.  Doug “Jeff” Beck and Mike Krueger(Empty Netter) tally for the Sharks.  No Hawks highlights.

WINGS  4     BRUINS   1

The Wings play a great game for their first victory of the playoffs!  Sub Paul Violassi with the deuce.  Singles for fellow subs John Siedik and Todd Schurman.  Goaler Mike Schlimgen was outstanding in nets!  Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins with the lone Bruins goal.

FLYERS   3    SHARKS   1

The Flyers get back on track behind the outstanding and acrobatic goaltending efforts of Mike Haines!  Robert Stempian, Adam Godard and John Dooley score for the Flyers.  Ben Haynes with the lone Shark goal.

BRUINS   5    HABS   1

Scoreless entering the final stanza – then the Bruins, sparked by the natural hat trick by Captain Steve Lemieux, roll over the Habs.  Chuck “Johnny” Bowers and Jimmy “Boog” Powell also score.  Mike Harke with the lone Habs marker in this penalty free game.

WINGS   3    HAWKS   1

Hmm!  The Wings sweep on the day as they abscond their first two playoff wins.  Sporting four subs today, could be the answer?  Subs Paul Vioalssi, Matt Lindell and once again Brian Belloli score for the Wings.  As in game one – goalie Mike Schlimgen excelled in nets!  Billy Hagen scores the Hawks only goal of the day.

Who was the last NHL goaltender to play every minute in every game for a season?

4,200 minutes in a 70 game schedule – amazing!

Eddie Johnston -Boston Bruins – 1963

Gotta love the beverages!
