THIS YEAR’S STING GOLF OUTING!

HAWKS   3    BRUINS   2

The Hawks were seemingly in command with a 3-0 lead on two goals from Paul Violassi and one from Billy Hagen.  But the Bruins score twice, on goals from sub Steve Orr and Robbie Porter in a late final period 20 second span, to make things very interesting.  The Hawks prevail!

FLYERS  4    HABS   2

The summer champions Flyers continue their dominance behind the stellar puck stopping efforts of goalie Mike Haines!  Chuck Bowers scores twice for the Flyers.  Singles for Jimmy George and Ryan O’Rourke.  Speedsters Bob “Bugsy” Watson and Mike Ala tally for the French guys in this penalty free game.

WINGS   4    SHARKS   1

Wings goalie Bob Rutkoske shined this game as he thwarted the Sharks time after time!  Mark Smyth, Paul Polizzi, Al Pyc and Brian Belloli score for the Wings.  Doug “Jeff” Beck with the lone Shark goal.

HABS  2    BRUINS   0

Jim Chapie scores six seconds before the end of the first period, which ended up to be the game winner!  Bobby Watson with a final period goal. Bespectacled goalie Dave Gaskey was outstanding between the pipes!  With high aspirations this campaign, the Bruins open the season with a double dip defeat.

HAWKS  7    WINGS   3

The high flying Hawks clip the Wings in fine fashion for a DH sweep!  Speedsters Paul Violassi and Billy Hagen with the deuce.  Singles for Pat “Crazy Legs” Berry, Mike Fox and Pete Ludwig.  Mark Smyth, Mike Lawson and sub Mike Garlick tally for the Wings who split on the day.  This was a penalty free game.

SHARKS   3    FLYERS   3

2-2 at the end of one.  3-3 at the final buzzer.  A very even game as the score indicates.  Jimmy George scores twice for the Flyers.  HIs second goal was the shorthanded game tying goal.  Sammy Bonanno with their middle goal.  Sharks – Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins, perceptual Shark Ben Haynes and sub Robbie Olmstead.
