WINGS   3     BRUINS   1

Mike Lawson ties the game up 1-1 at the first period buzzer and then Brian Belloli and Paul Giles score final period goals, as the Wings defeat the Bruins.  Goaler Bobby Rutkoske with a ten save game.  Right winger Robbie Porter with the lone Bruins marker in this penalty free game.

FLYERS   2    HAWKS  1

A splendid goaltending battle between winning goalie Mike Haines and Al Clark of the Hawks!  Bill Murdock and Sammy Bonanno do the honors for the Flyers.  Billy Hagen buries a breakaway for the Hawks.

HABS   6    SHARKS   2

Deuces wild for Mike Harke and Bobby Watson as the Habs have no problem defeating the Sharks in this game.  Longtime Habs Don Courtley and John Perini pitch in with goals.  Mike Ala with the hat trick assist.  Ben Haynes and Doug “Jeff” Beck score for the Fish in this penalty free game.

HABS   4    FLYERS   1

The Flying Frenchmen are playing some really good hockey, as they hand the Flyers their first loss of this young season as both squads are now tied for the top spot in the standings.  Bobby Watson, Adam Godard and the Mikes – Ala and Harke light the lamp for the Habs.  Master facilitator John “The Little Ball of Hate” Perini with the tour du chapeau assist.  Hats off to puck stopper Dave Gaskey who shined in nets!  Bill Murdock with the lone Flyers goal.  With the Flyers down 4-1 late in the game – Flyers Captain Ryan O’Rourke was feeling a little incorrigible, as he picks up a solo roughing minor penalty.

HAWKS   5    BRUINS   0

Belly Hagen was flying this game as he records the trick!  Singles for Russ Kemp and sub Scott Leslie.  Goalie Al Clark with the whitewash and a relatively light workload.  No Bruins highlights as they start the season 0-6.

WINGS   3    SHARKS   1

Sharks defenseman Mike Krueger blasts in a slap shot from the point to put the Sharks up 1-0 entering the final stanza.  Then Chris Raber, Mike Lawson and sub Todd Schurman find the back of the net for the Wings as they sweep on the day!  Wings goalie Bobby Rutkoske was outstanding in nets!
