IN HONOR OF SHARK WEEK!

ABOVE IS THE RARE MAKO SHARK CAUGHT IN CABO BY

PAUL VIOLASSI, “ANGRY” JOE, DANNY REA AND MIKE RIDDLE!

WEEK ONE – PLAYOFFS

BRUINS   3    HAWKS   0

Bruins sub goalie Mayer stood on his proverbial head and stunned the team they call the Hawks!  Only the beginning for Big Rob Rowling – stay tuned – scores twice for his Bruins.  Cris Lidstrom with the eventual game winner.  No Hawks sightings this game.

HABS   2    SHARKS   2

A very entertaining playoff contest that ends in a stalemate.  Billy Reiss and sub Mike Ala tally for the French guys.  John Poolton and Dave “Adam” West do likewise for the Fish.  Habs goalie Tim Parker and Sharks puck stopper Mark Micolo both were outstanding between the pipes in this penalty free game!

FLYERS   7    WINGS   5

The sub laden Flyers who fielded five subs today, light the lamp and dispose of the Wings.  Deuces wild for subs Ken Debus and Robie.  Singles for Rob Montgomery and subs Hituan and Scott Davenport.  Wait!  Did I say Davenport?  Yep – after a two year ban due to gross on ice misconduct, Mr. Davenport has reappeared!  Wonder what the threatened referees and scorekeepers think about the reinstatement?  Personally I like the guy.  We have been teammates from Canada to Michigan to St. Louis.  But talk about hockey misbehavior issues!  Oh my!  Jeff “Marine” Steiber with the trick for the Wings.  Singles for Scott Chodun and Chris Robillard.

SHARKS   4    FLYERS   1

The Sharks and goalie Mark Micolo play a great game and upend the explosive Flyers!  Ron Nanney, Scott Leslie, John Poolton and with a blistering drive from the point – Paul Elsey score for the Sharks.  Ryan Boyette with the lone Flyers goal.

HAWKS   3    WINGS   2

The Hawks get back on the winning track with a hard fought one goal victory over the Wings.  Returning from parts unknown – “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio, Tyler Teneuck and sub Mark Micolo Jr. do the honors for the Hawks, who were absent top gun Brian Moore today.  “Downtown” Jimmy Brown and Chris Robillard tally for the Wings, who start the playoffs on the wrong skate – as they drop a deuce today.  Scott Chodun of the Wings and Stu Egrin of the Hawks both with roughing minor penalties and many verbal pleasantries to boot!

BRUINS   5    HABS   2

Mr. Rob Rowling with a 4 & 1 game and factoring in all of his teams goals!  Six goals on the day for the big guy!  Once again sub puck stopper Mayer with a strong game in nets for the Bruins, who sweep on the day.  Billy Reiss and the long haired Anthony Amato score for the Habs.  Amato always donates his cut hair to an organization.  Kudos to Anthony!

Who are the four NHL players who scored 50 goals and accumulated over 200 minutes in penalties in a season?
Brendan Shanahan
Keith Tkachuk
Kevin Stevens
Gordie Roberts
