WEEK FOUR – PLAYOFFS
FLYERS 5 WINGS 1
Johnny O. leads the Flyers with a two goal game. Singles for Trevor Wrobel, Charlie Eslinger and Jeff Funk. Since Funk scored – time for another Funk story. We are playing in the No Star game and Jeff and I were in different locker rooms. Since we briefly played together for the Angels at Mt. Clemens, as previously depicted – we had the same Angels hockey bag. Post game Jeff walks in my locker room and sees me sitting with my bag in front of me with a puzzled look on his face. I immediately knew! Jeff – you’re in the wrong locker room! Lol! Flyers puck stopper Greg “Bruce” Sutter was strong in the nets. Trevor Knight with the Wings marker.
HABS 4 SHARKS 3
The Habs play a very disciplined game for the close victory. Deuces wild for Kenny Kasper and Anthony Amato of the Habs. Mike Nalepa with the hat trick assist. Goalie Tim Parker with a solid game between the pipes. Fish – Richie Artymovich, Craig Bastuba and Ron Nanney. This was a penalty free game.
HAWKS 4 BRUINS 4
Bruins seemingly in control with a 4-1 lead with a half a period left in the game. Nope! Brian Hamlin scores for the Hawks and two minutes later Mike Riddle scores twice in a 40 second span as the game ends in a tie. Joe Robillard with the Hawks first period goal. Nate McNaughtry scores twice for the Bruins. Jim May and sub Mike Garlick also score. Former long time Hawk – Robbie Olmstead with a three helper game.
SHARKS 3 BRUINS 3
Another tie for the Bruins. Rob Rowling scores twice for the Bruins. Robbie Olmstead with their initial goal. Dave “Adam” West finds the twine twice for the Sharks. Sub Mike Ala with their middle goal. Both goalies – Mark Micolo of the Sharks and Chris MacDonald of the Bruins with strong games in nets. This was a penalty free game.
WINGS 8 HABS 4
Ouch! The Wings put a hurting in more ways than one, on the French guys! Severely damping their Championship game aspirations. Mr. Jeff Steiber with a four goal game for the Wings! Trevor Knight with the deuce. Singles for Jimmy Brown and Chris Robillard. Sub Paul “The Night of the Living Dead” Erikson scores twice for the Habs. Mike Nalepa and Billy Reiss with singles.
FLYERS 6 HAWKS 1
A game of high playoff ramifications as the Flyers out soar the Hawks! Johnny O. with the trick. Danny Rea with a two goal game. Rob Montgomery with a single. Puck stopper Greg Sutter with another strong game in nets. Joe Robbilard with the lone Hawks goal of the power play variety.
