CONGRATS TO THE BRUINS AND THE HAWKS – WHO WILL FACE-OFF

NEXT WEEK IN THE SAM CUPP CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!

BRUINS   4     WINGS   1

A game of high magnitude as the Bruins score twice in each period to upend the Zach-less Wings.  Ron Nanney with the Bruins first and final goals.  Sean Kendall and Rob Rowling with the middle markers.  One of my favorite goalies – “Smoking” Joe Polizzi was on fire this game!  Ukrainian sub Teneyck with the lone Wings goal.

SHARKS   4   HAWKS   4

Craig “The Evil Within” Bastuba scores on consecutive late game shifts to tie it for the Sharks.  Mike Akins and Anthony Amato with the Sharks first two goals.  Steve Lemieux, Trevor Knight, Mike Nalepa and Robbie Olmstead tally for the Hawks in this entertaining and impactful game for the Hawks.

FLYERS   9     HABS   7

A game of meaning for the Flyers – the Habs – nope!  Goals galore with the last goalie standing gets the win!  Deuces wild for Dave West, Trevor Wrobel and sub Paul Violassi(Also 3 Helpers) of the Flyers.  Mike T. Brown, Chris Robillard and Dave Rupprecht with singles.  “Downtown” Jimmy Brown and sub Matt Lindell score twice for the Habs.  Billy Reiss and sub Hank Richardson also with goals.

HAWKS   5    HABS   4

The Hawks win – they play next week – simple as that!  Power winger Mike “Padre” Nalepa took care of that as he records the trick!  Line-mates Robbie Olmsted(Also 3 Assists) and Brian Moore also score, as the top line totals ten points in the game and factors in all of the Hawks goals.  Billy Reiss scores twice for the Habs.  Jimmy Brown and sub Hank Richardson also score.

SHARKS   9    WINGS   6

Da Sharks end the high flying Wings season in fine fashion with an old fashion butt kicking!  Sharks Captain Mr. Mark Micolo with a four goal game!  Anthony Amato and as he did in game one – Craig Bastuba with two goal games.  His final goal was of the shorthanded variety.  Sub “Black” Jack Priauix also with a goal.  Mike “Claude” Akins had an interesting game, as he records three assists in the first period and then incurs a cross checking penalty with just over two minutes left in the period.  As he comes out of the box he picks up a solo roughing minor penalty and a ten minute and game ending misconduct and an early shower!  Joe Robillard and sub Paul Elsey Jr. both score twice for the Wings.  Angelo Pizzo and sub Barker with singles, as the Wings see their Championship game aspirations dissipate.  The Wings did convert three times on the power play.  Sub Barker of the Wings and “Angry” Joe of the Sharks pick up first period minor roughing penalties.

FLYERS  4    BRUINS  4

Another game of high magnitude as the Flyers needed to win this game to play next week.  The tie worked for the Bruins, as they will face-off against the Hawks next week in the Sam Cupp Championship game.  Rob Rowling scores twice for his Bruins.  Jim May and Nick Piccolo with singles.  Trevor Wrobel goes twine twice for his Flyers.  Chris Robillard and sub Paul Violassi also score.  This was a spirited affair as nine penalties in all were called in the game.  Flyers sub Violassi picks up a solo roughing minor penalty as do Sean Kendall and sub Butch Erickson of the Bruins.

Who is the first NHL player to win four trophies in one season?
Bobby Orr – 1969-70
Conn Smythe – MVP of Playoffs
Hart – MVP of season
Art Ross – Most points in a season
James – Norris – Top defenseman
