WEEK THREE – PLAYOFFS

FLYERS   5     HABS   2

The Flyers spread out the scoring in a workmanlike effort for the W!  Rob “The Full Monty” Montgomery, Mike “Claude” Akins, Johnny O., Charlie Eslinger and sub Hiltunen score for the Flyers.  Mike Nalepa, and “The Pride of Grosse Pointe” – sub Tim Vaneckoute tally for the Habs.

SHARKS   2    HAWKS   0

Sharks sub Mike Garlick scores 22 ticks into the game for the eventual game winning goal!  John Poolton with the insurance marker.  Puck stopper Mark Micolo was stellar in nets with the whitewash!  No Hawks sightings this game.

WINGS   6    BRUINS   2

The Wings and goalie Billy Papciak come up big this game with a decisive W!  Trevor Knight with deuce for the Wings.  Singles for Jim Bulgarelli(SH), “Downtown” Jimmy Brown, Chris Robillard and sub Frank Pedwaydon.  Rob Rowling continues his playoff goal brigade with both Bruins markers.

FLYERS   5   SHARKS   2

The Flyers sweep on the day with identical 5-2 victories.  Johnny O. with the deuce for the Flyers.  Singles for Rob Montgomery, Trevor Wrobel and sub Paul Violassi.  One of my favorite players – Richie Arthmovich with both Sharks goals.

HABS   5    BRUINS  3

Retribution!  The French guys prevail after a very tenuous loss in playoff week one, against these Bruins!  Anthony Amato, Dougie Roehl, Mike Nalepa and brothers Billy and Joey Reiss do the honors for the Habs.  Joey Reiss with the late shorthanded insurance goal, as he rode his stick in front of the Bruins bench!  As I said Retribution!  Dr. Nate MacNaughtry, Cris Lidstrom and Rob Rowling tally for the men in yellow.

HAWKS   4    WINGS   4

Wings sub Ken Debus scores his second goal of the game with the goalie pulled for the stirring Wings tie!  Trevor Knight with another two goal game.  Tyler “Duck Dynasty” Teneyck scores twice for the Hawks.  Angelo Pizzo and “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio with singles.
