BRUINS 6 HABS 3
Bruins jump out to a 4-1 first period lead and hold on for the W. Center Zach Wagner with a two goal game for the Bruins. Singles for Donnie Rivera and subs Rob Aughe, Howarth and Celian. Habs sub Paul Elsila scores twice. Big Rob Rowling with the Habs initial goal.
WINGS 6 HAWKS 2
2-2 entering the final stanza, then the Wings take charge and declaw the Hawks. Jeff Ivory, Kurt Salvatore, Mike Riddle, with an assist from his son Carson, who also recored a goal, Steve Bayagich and sub Chris Isola round out the Wings scoring. Former Lions QB Scott Mitchell scores both Hawks goals in this penalty free game.
SHARKS 7 FLYERS 4
Forward Trevor Wrobel scores on each of his first two shifts and then early in the final period to propel the Sharks over the Flyers. Wisconsin native Nate McNaughrty with the deuce. Steve Wink and sub Jeff “Marine” Steiber also with markers. Flyers – Paul “Brett Michaels” Violassi, Mike “Padre” Napela, John Cornish and Army vet Eddie Sudzina. No trips to the sin bin for either team.
WINGS 5 FLYERS 3
Down 3-1 entering the final period, the Wings score four unanswered final period goals to sweep for the day! Paul “Stork” Erickson with two goals. Singles for Pat Wosek, Mike Riddle and his son Carson. Mark Rogers, Mike Naleapa and Eddie Sudzina tally for the last place Flyers, who have yet to record a point in this young season. Wings sub Chris Isola voices his displeasure toward the referee’s and hits the box with an unsportsmanlike minor infraction. In true marine like fashion – referee Macauley instructs marine Isola to give me 20 pushups – right now mister! Isola declined!
HAWKS 3 HABS 3
You can always count on this guy when the chips are down! Habs power forward Rob Rowling scores his second goal of the game with the goalie pulled, to achieve a tie for the Frenchmen. Free skating Craig Bastuba with the Habs middle goal. Brian Moore(SH), Robbie Olmstead(PP) and defenseman Jack Leavy tally for the Hawks. Both goalies – Dar of the Hawks and Gordy Nadlolsky of the Habs with excellent games between the pipes.
SHARKS 5 BRUINS 3
Sharks forward Trevor Wrobel scores another first shift goal, this time 16 ticks into the game and Nate McCaughtry and Steve Wink both score twice as the Fish sweep for the day. It appears the movement of Mr. Wink to forward is paying high dividends, as he dents the twine three times in today’s DH. The Sharks snap a 3-3 tie with two power play goals as Bruins defenseman Paul Elsey looked in vain from the box each time. Zach Wagner, Paul Elsey and sub Rob Aughe score for the men in yellow.
