PLAYOFFS – WEEK TWO
WINGS 6 SHARKS 3
The big guy kept last week’s promise and showed up today to the chagrin of the Sharks, as Rob Rowling records the hat trick for the Wings! Paul “Stork” Erikson with the deuce. Dougie Roehl with a far low side laser. Nate McNaughtry, James Puffer and buddy Ward Peterson tally for the Fish.
BRUINS 4 FLYERS 0
Da Bruins unceremoniously snap the Flyers one game winning steak! Sub goalie E. Miller with the whitewash. John Cornish, Jimmy “Jets’ Galloway, Pat “The Beast” Wosek and Joey Reiss dent the twine for the Bruins.
HAWKS 5 HABS 5
If you enjoy scoring – this was the game to watch! “Scowling” Scott Leslie ties the game up for the Hawks with just over two minutes remaining left in the contest. Center Zach Wagner with a two goal game. John McNeilly and sub Hentschel with singles. Mark Rogers and sub “Downtown” Jimmy Brown with two goals apiece for the Habs. Steve “Mario” Lemieux with their initial marker. Jimmy Brown gets slapped with a game ending ten minute misconduct penalty, as referee Marv is defintely going to take no guff!
SHARKS 3 BRUINS 3
A well played somewhat chippy affair in this tie game. Mike “Padre” Nalepa scores twice for the Bruins. John Cornish with their final goal. Brian Reath, Greg Stacey and Ward Peterson dent the twine for the Sharks. Ward Peterson of the Sharks and Brendan Brosnan of the Bruins both incur roughing minor penalties. Peterson picks up another roughing(Solo) minor infraction four minutes later.
HAWKS 5 FLYERS 2
Sub Hentschel with the trick for the Hawks. Dana Boyette and John McNeilly with singles. Zach Wagner with three helpers. Trevor Wrobel and “Midtown” Mikey Brown tally for the Flyers. In a symbolic gesture, a Flyers player to be unnamed, passed out post game individual pucks to certain players on his team. Hmm!
WINGS 4 HABS 2
Two teams going in different directions. The first place Wings sweep their second straight doubleheader. The last place Habs are still winless. Rob Rowling finds the back of the net twice for the Wings. Paul Erickson and the cerebral Jeff Funk with singles. Pierre Dugas and Steve Bayagich tally for the Frenchmen in this penalty free game.
