DEMOND FERNANDEZ!

DEMOND WAS INFORMING HIS VIEWERS OF THE GREAT PROGRESS BEING MADE ON THE

GEORGE HOWE BRIDGE!

SAFE TO SAY NOT A HOCKEY FAN!

BRUINS    3     SHARKS   2

Bruins defenseman Brian Reath scores 45 ticks into the game!  45 ticks later, Dave West of the Sharks ties it up!  Sharks sub Jimmy Deagan puts them up 2-1, only to see the Bruins come back on goals from subs Lloyd Rogers and Robillard for a hard earned victory!  Bruins goalie Gordy Nadolsky shined in nets!

HAWKS   3     HABS   1

A tight goaltending battle between winning goalie Billy Papciak and the Habs Kris Arthur!  Paul Elsey Jr. snaps the 1-1 tie with just over a minute left in the contest!  Robbie Olmstead, and Anthony Amato(EN) also score for the Hawks.  Sub Joey Reiss The Third, with the Habs lone goal.

WINGS   5     FLYERS   5

A wide open run and gun affair as the score indicates!  The ageless Terry Boyette scores twice for the Wings.  His second goal was with the goalie pulled and just 33 seconds left in the game!  Singles for John Cornish, Steve Bayagich and Eddie Sudzina.  Scott Leslie leads the Flyers with the deuce.  “Angry” Joe, Ryan Boyette and Scott Kostesich also score for the Flyers.

FLYERS   4    BRUINS   2

All the game’s scoring was accomplished in the final stanza.  Jamie Smith scores twice for the Flyers.  As in game one –  “Angry” Joe and Scott Kosteisch with singles.  Hats off to goalie Brian Miller who was excellent between the pipes!  Providence call up Robillard with both Bruins goals.

SHARKS    8    HAWKS   5

Mike “Padre” Nalepa starts the new year out in fine fashion with the trick!  Sub Chris Ballach with the deuce.  Dave West and Kenny Kluz with singles.  Waz Sarweh with the hat trick assist.  Mike Riddle dents the twine twice for the Hawks.  Anthony Amato, Jeff Funk and sub Brian Barker also with goals.  Robbie Olmstead with three helpers.  Jeff Funk(Slashing) of the Hawks and sub Chris Ballach(Cross Checking) of the Sharks exchange pleasantries and hit the box in tandem.

WINGS   6    HABS   2

Was this game played in Dallas?  More on that issue later.  Deuces wild for Zach Wagner(Also 3 Helpers) and Jim Roble as the Wings defeat the Habs.  Eddie Sudzina and John Cornish also score.  Defenseman Kurt Salvatore with three helpers.  Pat “The Beast” Wosek and Jeff Steiber tally for the Habs.  John Cornish of the Wings hooks Billy Reiss of the Habs, who takes high exception and chops him back as they both receive two minute minor penalties.  The Frenchmen were feeling a lot like the Detroit Lions this game, as the following transpired.  Captain Zach Wagner of the Wings receives an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.  Now everyone knows Zach is the top player in the league.  Oh – and he also manages the sports complex.  Zach says NO – I’m NOT going to the box.  The not to be named referees agree and no penalty on Zach is called, as he statys on the ice!  This begs a question.  Does managing the complex grant him leverage over the referees?  Sounds like a very slippery slope to me!  Food for thought.

Only two USA born players have won the Hart Trophy(MVP).

Who are they?

   Patrick Kane and

Austin Matthews
