HAWKS    5    FLYERS   4

The Flyers play a great game and almost upend these talented Hawks.  A very unusual ending to this very entertaining contest!  Trevor Wrobel(Interference) and Marty Papesh(Hooking) of the Flyers both receive penalties at the same time!  Power play specialist Scott Chodun scores the eventual game winning goal on the 5 on 3, to put the Hawks up 5-3.  Three seconds later, Mike Riddle of the Flyers scores shorthanded on the 5 on 3, to bring the game to a 5-4 score where the game ended.  Robbie Olmstead scores twice for the Hawks.  Rob Giroux and Bob Hergott with singles.  Paul Violassi, Trevor Wrobel and sub Lloyd Rogers tally for the Flyers.

BRUINS   7    WINGS   5

In a wild final period where the Bruins score three times and the Wings four, the Bruins come out on top.  Winger Nick Piccolo scores twice for the Bruins.  Singles for Mike Nalepa, John Cornish and subs Scott Bozyk, Justin “Mickey” Brantley and Russian import Zaschak.  This was a rude welcoming for Wings disappearing goalie Dar, who makes his first appearance of the season!  Who says he misses his surrogate Dad – Robbie Olmstead!  Mr. Zach Wagner with a four goal game!  Kenny Kluz also scores for the Wings in this penalty free game.

HABS   8    SHARKS   3

Ugly early and often for the Sharks!  Doing his power winger Cam Neely of the Boston Bruins impression – Rob Rowling with the natural tour du chapeau for the Frenchmen!  “Angry” Joe and Joey Reiss both with the deuce.  Teddy Marcola with a single.  Pat “The Beast” Wosek and Paul “The Stork” Erikson both with the hat trick assist.  We heard postgame Pat Wosek and Joey Reiss making a pact:”I’m not getting my haircut until we start losing” as they both agreed!

FLYERS   3     HABS   3

The Flyers pick up their first point in five games!  Flyers first game scorers – Trevor Wrobel, Mike Riddle and sub Lloyd Rogers replicate again.  Brother Mark Rogers, Rob Rowling and Eddie Sudzina score for the Habs.

HAWKS   8     BRUINS   4

Bruins had a chance to vault alone into first place.  Didn’t happen, as the Hawks win their fifth straight!  Line-mates Mr. Brian Moore(4 & 1) and Jordan Roberts(3 & 4) run roughshod over the Bruins.  Jeff Funk with the Hawks initial tally.  Deuces wild for Mike “Padre” Nalepa and Scott Bozyk of the Bruins.

WINGS    8    SHARKS   5

The Wings recover from game one and score four times in each period for the W!  Zach Wagner, Greg Stacey and Terry Boyette all with two goal games!  Mr. Boyette just adds to his burgeoning career points total in his fabulous hockey career!  Terry played juniors with the Soo St. Marie Greyhounds and a couple of his teammates were former NHL players Ivan Boldriev and Jerry “King Kong” Korab!  Terry just keeps on going!  Steve Lemieux also scores for the Wings.  Steve Bayagich with three helpers.  Dave Rupprecht with a two goal game for the Sharks.  Singles for the Mikes – Garlick and Akins.  Sub Savona also with a goal for the sub infested Sharks.  Greg Stacey(Hook)of the Wings and Mike Krueger(High Stick) of the Sharks convene in the box together.

MLB has had numerous former catchers become MLB managers.

For some unknown reason, or maybe it is known – LOL!

The NHL has had 380 head coaches in it’s history and only FIVE have been goalies!

Who are they?
