“A” LEAGUE WEEKLY UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 9, 2021

BRUINS   4     FLYERS   2

Jeff “Marine” Steiber scores twice in the final period to snap the 2-2 tie for the Bruins.  Glenn Howarth and John Cornish with the Bruins first period goals.  Goal-keep Kris “King” Arthur with an excellent game between the pipes!  Trevor Worbel and “Midtown” Mikey Brown score for the Flyers.

SHARKS   4    HAWKS   1

Sub Jimmy Degan dents the twine twice for the Sharks.  Singles for Mike Garlick and David Rupprecht.  Stalwart goaltender Bill Papciak with his usual solid game in nets.  Scott Chodun with the lone Hawks goal.

WINGS   6    HABS   3

Picking up where he left off last season – Zach Wagner with the trick!  Greg Stacy, Steve Bayagich and Rob Montgomery with singles.  Defenseman Pat “The Beast” Wosek with two goals from the point for the Habs.  Sub Sammy “Bananas” Bonanno with a short handed goal.

FLYERS   6    HAWKS   4

The Flyers break a 4-4 first period tie and tally twice in the final period.  Deuces wild for Mike Riddle and Steve Wink.  Jimmy “Jets'” Galloway with the game winning goal.  Hawks – Scott Chodun, Rob Giroux, Bob Hergott and Robbie Olmstead.

WINGS   4    BRUINS   3

The Wings sweep on the day as they receive two goals apiece from Rob Montgomery and Steve Bayagich.  Sub goalie Mayer with a very good game in nets.  Mike “Padre” Nalepa scores twice for the Bruins.  Jeff Steiber with their final goal.  Glenn Howarth of the Bruins picks up a solo roughing minor infraction in the games final minute.

SHARKS   5   HABS   2

The Sharks also sweep on the day as the Frenchmen descend in the other direction.  Once again sub Jimmy Degan scores twice for the Fish.  Singles for Nate McNaughtry, Pierre Dugas and Scott “Scowling” Leslie.  “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio and Army veteran Eddie Sudzina tally for the Habs.
