WEEK TWO – PLAYOFFS
FLYERS 7 BRUINS 5
The Flyers continue their strong domination over the Bruins The Flyers have won in convincing fashion, five of the six meetings this season against the Bruins! Deuces wild for defenseman Kyle Lybecker and Sting rookie sub “Scott” Mitchell. Singles for Joey Reiss, Pat “The Best” Wosek and sub Trevor Thompson, on a no look 180 foot empty netter. John McNeilly and Mike Ala both score twice for the Bruins. Craig Bastuba also with a Bruins goal in this penalty free game. Dr. Nate was not too happy this game, as Pat Wosek chops his brand new $200 stick and breaks it! Pat did apologize though and offered Nate one of his sticks! Kudos to Bruins net-minder Dar, who apologized to his teammates before the game, regarding his abrasive verbal on ice manner towards his teammates last week. Classy move!
HAWKS 5 HABS 1
Swept right off the golf course – Hawks sub Larry Deshaw with the hat trick! Singles for Brian Moore and Lenny Gerbino. Dougie Roehl with the lone Habs marker.
SHARKS 8 WINGS 3
There was a feeding frenzy in arena two, as the Sharks devour the Wings! Two goals a piece for Billy Mac Jr. and Donnie Rivera. Singles for Benny Hudson, “Midtown” Mikey Brown, his brother “Downtown” Jimmy Brown and Sharks very special sub – Rob Duff. Jeff Ivory with four helpers and Timmy “Dutch” Schultz with three helpers. But there was a serious casualty this game, as Billy Mac Jr. takes a Mike Nalepa slap shot off his foot and did not play game two due too an apparent broken foot! Not good! This was a penalty free game.
BRUINS 6 SHARKS 2
Game tied 2-2, then all of a sudden the Bruins score four times in a final period span of three minutes to harpoon the Sharks. Dr. Nate and John McNeilly both with two goal games. Singles for Curt Lesnau and “Old Man” Jack Priaux. Jeff Ivory and Donnie Riviera score for the Sharks, who played with nine players this game and a huge star power loss without Billy Mac Jr on the ice.
HAWKS 2 FLYERS 1
The story of this game was the spectacular goaltending of the closest to a pro goalie I know – Hawks sub John Valenti! This guy is tough to beat! Brian Moore and sub Larry Deshaw tally for the undeafted first place Hawks. Mike T. Brown was the only Flyer to solve Mr. Valenti.
HABS 4 WINGS 3
Habs come back from a 3-1 first period deficit with three unanswered final period goals! The straw that stirs the drink – Big Rob Rowling with the tour du chapeau! Line-mate Robbie Olmstead with a goal and three helpers. Wings – Mike “Padre” Nalepa(2) and Paul Violassi. The Habs Scott Chodun and the Wings Ryan Boyette both with minor roughing penalties and yes, pleasantries were exchanged.
