HAWKS   4   WINGS   3

1-1 entering the final stanza -then the Hawks score three times in the final period for the W.  Rockford call up Garrick with a two goal game for the Hawks.  Singles for Dr. Nate and Kurt “The Baron” Von Mach.  Stretch pass master Rob Rowling with the deuce for the Wings.  Grand Rapids call up Pedwaydon with the Wings final marker.

SHARKS   2    FLYERS   1

A tint of playoff atmosphere in this slightly chippy contest!  The tone was sent seconds into the game, when Sharks center Mike Riddle swooped down the left side and unloaded an absolute cannon off of Dar’s right shoulder, sending him sprawling and the play called immediately!  Dar got right up!  “Let’s play” he bellows!  “Downtown” Jimmy Brown with both of the Sharks goals of the chip shot variety.  Net minder “Smoking” Joe Polizzi with several outstanding glove saves!  Mike Nalepa with the late Flyers marker.  Jimmy Brown and Lloyd Rogers get into a “How do you do” and both receive unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.  Just prior to the drop of the puck, the arena door opens and the Sharks “Midtown” Mikey Brown takes his helmet off and starts posing for action shot photos, as Brian Barr’s wife Doreen takes pictures of him!  Hockey card photos?  Can’t wait to get one!

HABS   1     BRUINS   1

Big Rex Baker ties it up late for the men in yellow.  Mike T. Brown scores for the Habs.  Both sub puck stoppers – Rodney Heid of the Habs and John Valenti of the Bruins put on a goaltending clinic in this penalty free game!

BRUINS   4   SHARKS    2

The red hot Bruins extend their unbeaten streak to 12 games!  Showing the speed of his days at St. Norbert’s College in Wisconsin – “Angry” Joey Ventimiglio with the hat trick!  Center John McNeilly with a single.  Again – sub goalie John Valenti was simply outstanding with his butterfly style of goaltending.  Billy Mac Jr. with both Sharks goals.

HAWKS    5     HABS   1

The machine – they call the Hawks, dominate the Frenchmen!  Sub Garrick with the trick!  Singles for Dr. Nate and Eddie Sudzina.  Second line center Scott Chodun with three helpers.  Goaler Scott French with a seven save game.  Mike T. Brown swats in a bouncing puck for their lone goal.  The Hawks pass around a little Fireball in their post game locker room.

FLYERS   5     WINGS   5

Oh boy!  The Wings score twice in the games last three minutes to tie it up, to the Flyers angst and dismay!  Refer to Curt Corner’s pre-season preview of the Flyers below.  Rob Rowling with the trick for the Wings.  Singles for Dana Boyette and sub Pedwayton.  Center Joey Reiss played facilitator with three assists.  The Wings are winless in their past nine games, but are still not in last place – thanks to the Flyers!  Mike Nalepa with the hat trick for the Flyers.  Singles for Billy Knight and Donnie Rivera.

FLYERS PRE-SEASON PREVIEW

The Kona Grill boys!  I like the balanced offense.  The defense is extremely athletic and offensive minded.  The question here is, can they stay home?  History is on the negative side for that question!  Dar in nets.  Keep him in the right frame of mind and you have a top notch puck stopper!
