“R” LEAGUE 2025 SUMMER PREVIEW

HAWKS –  I’m not too hot on this squad.  Maybe .500. Obviously goaltending with Mike Haines is strong!  D is serviceable.  Sorry Bruce – Lol!  I don’t really think this team will light up the socreboard that much.

BRUINS –  Nice team.  A complete overall from past Bruins teams except for longtime Bruins goalie Mike Schlimgen.  Who will get the job done with proper support.  Love the speed of the forwards.  D is OK.

HABS –  Oh boy!  I think it’s going to be a long season for this squad.  Goalie Bobby Rutkoske will see his share of rubber!  Offense and defense is average at best.

WINGS –  Kevin Maguire a Wing!  What’s he going to do with all that Flyers wearable swag?  Was the team to beat in my very humble opinion.  Was is the operative word, since top pick Jimmy George went down for the season with a serious lower body injury.  UPDATE – Chuck Mouraine has been beckoned from Grand Rapids and will permanently replace Jimmy George.  Back to the team to beat!  The forwards will score and the defenseman will dominate.  I personally happen to think goalie “Sugar” John Marchin is vastly underrated.

FLYERS –  Another team with a lot of upheaval and different faces.  Might have some trouble putting the puck in the net on a consistent basis.  D and goalie are solid.

SHARKS –  Love this team!  Could very well be in the top spot at season’s end!  Forwards will put the puck in the net.  Top pick vagabond Sammy “The Bull” Bonanno with his fifth consecutive new team!  The D is very mobile and will definitely help out on the offensive side of things.  Superman is Superman – Never sell him short and prepare for shrimp!
