STARS 3 HABS 2
Number one star and MVP super sniper Ronnie Meltsner scores all of the Stars goals in a very entertaining and somewhat edgy game, in front of a sold out Troy Arena crowd! Line mate Pat Collins assisted on all three goals. In a very ironic turn of events, last season both goalies, Mike Mostyn and Sir Kevin Beebe were traded for each other in a clandestine deal just prior to the playoffs. Mostyn was traded off of the number one team and was not a happy camper! So – who were the goalies in today’s Sam Cupp Championship game? Stars winning net minder Mike Mostyn and Habs puck stopper Sir Kevin Beebe, who both stood tall between the pipes! Sir Kevin Beebe was a little distraught following the game, as he felt he overreacted and let in a softie third goal. Kevin sends his apologies to his Habs teammates. Meltsner’s first goal was of the power play variety as the Habs Chris Zanke watched helplessly in the box. The Habs ended the game with a power play and a 6 on 4 advantage with the goalie pulled. With ten seconds left they almost tied it up only to be foiled by Mostyn! Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence and Kenny “Prime Time” Wilkins light the lamp for the Frenchmen to conclude another successful Michigan Sting season. Rumor has it Ronnie Meltsner left the arena with the trophy and numerous hats that were tossed on the ice to celebrate his hat trick!
