SHARKS 7 HABS 4
It was a feeding frenzy as the Sharks score five times in the final stanza! The lead Shark – Al Pyc with a five point game – 2 goals and 3 assists! Deuces wild also for Ben Haynes and sub John “Magnum” Higgins. Sub Dougie Roehl also with a goal. Habs – Kenny Wilkins, Jimmy “Boog” Powell, Mike Ala and Jeff “Dick” Tracy.
HAWKS 4 FLYERS 2
Al Sparks and Brian Belloli both score twice for the Hawks. Brian’s two goals were on the same shift! Goaler Brian Miller was his usual solid self in nets. Chuck Mouraine with both Flyers markers.
BRUINS 3 WINGS 2
Circle the wagons in this game as the Wings throughly out played the Bruins, if not for the Herculean efforts of Bruins sub goalie Rick “Ticker” Chauvin! Ticker was simply outstanding between the pipes! Bo Altherr, Steve Lemieux and scoring the game winning goal into a huge yawning open net, Curt Lesnau tally for the Bruins. Barry Piornack and wearing number nine for the Wings Keri Topouzian(I thought that number was retired due to Gordie) were the Wings marksman.
SHARKS 4 WINGS 0
The Sharks continue their excellence today as they blank the Wings. Goalie Mike Schlimgen with the well earned whitewash! Rick Batchelder, Al Pyc and subs Matt Linnell and Dougie Roehl score for the Fish. The Wings still have not found an answer for the missing Steve Orr. They have tried numerous replacements and no one can duplicate the unique efforts of Steve. Wings Captain Paul Giles has issued a silver alert out for Mr. Orr!
FLYERS 4 HABS 2
The Flyers split on the day as goalie Bobby Rutkoske comes up big! Chuck Mouraine, Ryan O’Rourke, Jimmy George and Gerry Krause all dent the twine for the Flyers. The Mikes – Lawson and Ala tally for the Frenchmen who drop a deuce today.
HAWKS 3 BRUINS 3
The battle for first place appropriately ends in a tie, as the Hawks continue to enjoy their one point lead over the Bruins in the standings. Al Sparks, Billy Hagen and sub Larry “School Boy” Rowe score for the Hawks. Adam Godard, Curt Lesnau – on a specialty trained bad angle backhand and Bob “Bugsy” Watson – on a cannonading blast from the left wing tally for the Bruins. As in game one, the Bruins were territorially disadvantaged, but sub goalie “Ticker” stood on his proverbial head again!
