ONE WEEK(2 GAMES) REMAINING IN THE PLAYOFFS AND FIVE TEAMS ARE STILL IN CONTENTION FOR THE SAM CUPP CHAMPIONSHIP GAME!
BRUINS 4 HAWKS 1
Bruin sub “Magnum” Higgins with the trick! Dad – Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins assisted on all of his son’s goals. Pretty cool! Fellow sub Lawson with the Bruins final marker. Jimmy Chapie with the Hawks lone goal in this penalty free game.
HABS 3 SHARKS 1
Moving up to the forward position – Reggie Fleming clone Peter Gibb with a one goal and two assist game! The Mike’s – Lawson and Ala also with French goals. Goaltender Sir Kevin Beebe was outstanding between the pipes once again! John Perini was the only Shark to solve Sir Kevin.
FLYERS 4 WINGS 1
Al Sparks scores a buck 35 into the final period to send the Wings out to a 1 zip lead. 21 seconds later Tommy Trice scores his first goal of the playoffs to spark the previously comatose Flyers to the W. Ben Haynes, Keith Lutz and sub Scott Leslie followed with Flyers singles.
SHARKS 5 BRUINS 3
Chris Zanke records his first two goal game since Fraser Hockey-land had one rink! Singles for Jimmy “Boog” Powell, Steve Orr and sub Steve “Mario” Lemieux. Adam Godard and subs Higgins and Lawson tally for the men in yellow.
HABS 3 WINGS 1
The top spot Habs record their second consecutive double header sweep behind the two goal effort of the speedy and elusive Mike Ala. “Gentleman” Don Courtley with the Habs initial marker. As in game one – Al Sparks with the Wings only goal as they lose a double dip today.
FLYERS 6 HAWKS 3
Finally! The desperate Flyers sweep for the day as they end up one point ahead in second place with one week to go! Providence call up “Scowling” Scott Leslie with the deuce for the Flyers. Singles for Ronnie Meltsner, Stevie Lambert and once again – Ben Haynes and Tommy Trice. Hawks – Jimmy George, Mark Smyth and sub Al “Mike” Phipps.
