STARS 1 HABS 0
Pat Collins back doors the only goal of the game with just under four minutes left in the contest. Both goalers – Bobby Rutkoske and Sir Kevin Beebe put on a show for the one person in attendance.
WINGS 1 BRUINS 0
Very appropriate that the two teams who will battle it out next week for the Sam Cupp Championship, both win by identical 1-0 scores! Mary Sell beaks a scoreless tie at the 12 minute mark of the final period. Again – both goalers – Rick “Ticker” Chauvin and Mike Mostyn excelled in nets! The Wings Mike Ala picks up a solo 4 minute roughing minor. Bruins sub Lynn racks up a 2 minute unsportsmanlike conduct penalty while Ala was still serving his infraction.
HAWKS 6 LEAFS 3
Deuces wild for smooth skating Steve Orr and Dave “Buckeye” Wahl. James George and sub McRea also with Hawks markers. Leafs – Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel(2) and Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich.
WINGS 3 LEAFS 0
Very rare indeed – when a goalie and team gets a doubleheader shutout! Sub net minder Rick “Ticker” Chauvin shines in both games today, as he and his Wings teammates do just that – two whitewashes, as they gear up for the high octane Stars next week! Marty Sell, Mike Ala and Chuck Moraine tally for the Wings. Leafs puck stopper Brain Miller played well in nets. A couple of old adversaries – Randy Debuel and Chris Zanke get into it and both pick up 4 minute roughing penalties.
HAWKS 4 HABS 3
An entertaining game of no consequence, as the Hawks defeat the Frenchmen. Dr. Keri Topouzian, Rick Batchelder and the Jim’s – Chapie and George score for the Hawks in this penalty free game. Ben Haynes, Jeff “Dick” Tracy and David Walters tally for the Habs.
STARS 7 BRUINS 4
Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins with the trick. Deuces wild for Stevie Lambert and Mark Symth as the Stars refine their offense for next week’s big game against the Wings. The Stars are undefeated in their last seven games. Bob “Bugsy” Watson with the natural hat trick for the Bruins. Terry Masserant with the Bruins final marker.
