WINGS 5 BRUINS 0
The Wings make short work of this reeling Bruins squad. Sub goaler Rick “Ticker” Chauvin with the relatively easy whitewash. John “Hal” McRae with a two goal game. Singles for Gerry Krause, Chuck Mouraine and sub Dougie Roehl. No trips to the sin bin for either squad.
SHARKS 5 HAWKS 1
The newly formed PSL line of Al Phipps(2 Goals), Gary Syzlanski(3 & 2) and sub “Jacques” Lemire(2 Helpers) total nine points in the game and declaw the Hawks. Sub goalies Mike Allemon with a seven save game. Jimmy “One Skate” Sauter was the only Hawk to dent the twine.
WINGS 3 HAWKS 2
Down 2-0 entering the final stanza, Wings sniper Chuck Mouraine scores his first of three goals 45 seconds into the final period, as the second place Wings defeat the Hawks. Mark Smyth and Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins score first period goals for the Hawks, who drop a deuce today. Higgins and Terry Masserant both rack up roughing minor penalties in the final period.
SHARKS 2 FLYERS 1
These predatory undefeated first place Sharks sweep for the day! Feeling refreshed from not playing hockey Monday night at St. Clair Shores – Sharks center Gary Syzlanski was involved in all his teams scoring today, with five points in game one and a goal and assist this game! Nice job Gary! Al Phipps with the game winning Sharks goal. Sub goalie Mike Allemon with a very strong game in nets. Al Sparks with the lone Flyers marker in this penalty free game.
HABS 2 BRUINS 2
The last place winless Bruins pick up their first point of the playoffs! Dr. Keri Topouzian and Russian sub Niecalek do the honors for the Bruins. John Perini and Mike Ala tally for the Frenchmen. Both net-minders – the Habs Sir Kevin Beebe and Bruins sub Paul Kaczmarek with solid games in nets. Habs defenseman Howard Smith was a little unruly today, as he picks up TWO roughing minor penalties! The second one occurred at the end of the game, as he was tripped by antagonist Bobby Watson, who incurred a tripping penalty.
