A well played game by both squads, as both goalies – The Mikes – Haines of the Flyers and Schlimgen of the Bruins shine in nets! Ryan O’Rourke and Jimmy George do the honors for the Flyers. Bruins sub Jimmy “Boog” Powell with their marker.
HABS 2 WINGS 1
Same score and another well played game by the guys that stop the puck – winning goalie Dave Gaskey of the Habs and veteran Bobby Rutkose of the Wings! Mike Harke and Bobby Watson score for the Habs. The old duffer, with the emphasis on old – Paul Giles with the lone Wings goal. Assisting on Paul’s goal was former Spartan – sub Gabriella Rowe(See Picture Below) – daughter of Larry.
HAWKS 3 SHARKS 0
Scoreless entering the final stanza. Then the Hawks dip into the fountain of youth and receive goals from sub Pat Collins(2) and Joe Plati for the well earned W! Goalie Allen Clark with the whitewash! No red flags on the beach this game. Pete Ludwig of the Hawks and Doug Beck of the Sharks both receive late game roughing minor penalties as they exchange holiday greetings.
FLYERS 2 HAWKS 2
Another nip and tuck game for these Flyers! Flyers sub “Bobby” Mercer with both of their goals. Dan Bouzide and Dave Debrincat score for the Hawks, who are undefeated in their past six contests. Mike Haines of the Flyers and Allen Clark of the Hawks were stellar in nets! This was a penalty free game.
BRUINS 5 WINGS 4
Wouldn’t you know it! Both goal starved teams light the lamp at will this game! Congrats to the Bruins who abscond their first win of the young season! Right winger Robbie Porter with their final two goals. Steve Lemieux(Also 4 Helpers), Dougie Roehl and sub Abraham with singles. Mike Lawson goes twine twice for the Wings. Once again Paul Giles and sub Ken Debus also with goals. Brian Belloli with the hat trick assist. The slumping Wings have now dropped their past four contests.
SHARKS 6 HABS 1
Both teams split on the day as the Sharks have a feeding frenzy this game! Doug “Jeff” Beck strung in two goals for the Fish. Singles for Robert Stempian, Eddie Higgins and Mike Krueger. Goaler Brian Miller with a relatively light workload. Winger Mike Harke with the lone French goal in this penalty free game.
