WINGS   3    HABS   2

Grand Rapids call up Gary Szalanski buries the game winner for the host Wings.  Fellow sub Lawson and longtime musician Paulie “Jay” Giles round out the Wings scoring.  Goaler Mike Schlimgen stood tall in nets.  Don Courtley and Jeff “Dick” Tracy score for the Frenchmen.

BRUINS    2   FLYERS   0

Providence call up goalie Rick “Ticker” Chauvin stands on his proverbial head and steals the show in front of this sparse Holiday crowd!  Jimmy George with both Bruins markers.  No Flyers highlights.

HAWKS   4     SHARKS   2

Mike Ala scores the Hawks final two goals as they continue to roll.  Singles for Mark Smyth and Al Pyc.  Steve Dietrich and Eddie Higgins score for the Fish.

HAWKS   6    FLYERS   3

This powerhouse team they call the Hawks, remain undefeated in all eight games this season!  Who drafted this team?  All of these players have a high hockey IQ!  Nice job!  Steve Orr with the deuce.  Singles for Mike Ala and Al Pyc.  Subs “Magnum” Higgins(2) and Steve Lemieux tally for the Flyers.  Where is the Holiday spirit?  Things got a little ugly with two minutes left in the contest as Flyers sub goalie Paul Kaczmarek and Hawks forward Gary Enmark both receive fighting and game misconduct penalties.  Kaczmarek also picks up two roughing minors penalties to go with Enmarks’s hook and roughing minor penalties.  Shades of the old Broadstreet bullies back in the mid 70’s!  Players gloves littered the ice!

WINGS   6    BRUINS   3

Billy Hagen records the hat trick for the Wings, who sweep for the day!  Singles for Paulie Giles, Ronnie Meltsner(Also 3 Helpers) and Peter Gibb.  Jimmy George, Doug Wargo and Chuck Mouraine were the marksman for the men in yellow.  Al Platt and Adam Godard exchange Holiday pleasantries and both hit the box with roughing minors.  Chuck Mouraine picks up a solo roughing minor penalty all by himself.

SHARKS   1    HABS   0

Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins goes top shelf in period one and goaler Mike Allemon makes that goal stand up with a stellar puck stopping effort for the whitewash!  The Sharks Marty Sell(Roughing) takes offense to a high stick by Habs sub “Wayne” Gross as they both hit the box in tandem.  The reeling Frenchmen hit the Holiday break with two consecutive doubleheader losses.
