Power forward Keith Foucher scores in each period to lead the talented Flyers to the victory.  Jimmy George and sub Danny “Don’t Call Me Steve” Shannon with singles.  Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence and sub Smith with the Bruins markers in this penalty free game.

HABS   5   WINGS   2

Talk about on a roll!  For the third consecutive game – Habs forward Mike Ala with the tour du chapeau!  Don Courtley and Al Platt also score for the Frenchmen.  Goaltender Sir Kevin Beebe swatted away numerous scoring opportunities.  Counselor Tom McHugh and Ronnie Meltsner with the Wings goals.  “Gentleman” Don Courtley and Wings sub Bill Fay hit the box together with high sticking minor penalties.

HAWKS   6   SHARKS   5

Hawks sub “Scowling” Scott Leslie scores his third goal of the game with just under two minutes left on the arena clock, for the game winning goal!  Mark Smyth also with the trick for the Hawks as fedora’s littered the arena ice!  Peter Gibb with the hat trick assist.  Sharks sub “Freddy” Lynn scores twice.  Singles for Joe Plati, Pat Collins and Steve Dietrich.

The top spot Flyers lost their first game of the season and are now undefeated in their past seven games!  Both goalies- Mike Schlimgen for the Flyers and “Sugar” John Marchin for the Hawks were simply outstanding in this contest!  Keith Foucher with the game winner for the Flyers.  Jimmy George with the Flyers initial marker.  Marty Sell slipped in a rebound goal for the Hawks.

WINGS   4    BRUINS   2

The Wings methodically defeat the sad sack Bruins who are now 0-8 on the season!  Al Pyc with the deuce for the Wings.  Singles for Bobby Watson and sub Lawson.  As in game one – Cam Lawrence and sub Smith with the Bruins goals.

SHARKS   2    HABS   0

Brian Miller records his second shutout of this young season for the Sharks.  Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich and Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins do the honors for the Fish.  The Sharks were able to keep the Habs red hot Mike Ala off the score sheet in this game!  No Habs highlights.

 

 

This NHL Hall of Famer scored 50 or more goals in nine consecutive years and won four consecutive Stanley Cups in that time frame!
