MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

DO WE KNOW HOW TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAYS OR WHAT!

NOTHING LIKE THE HOCKEY FRATERNITY!

SHARKS    5    FLYERS   0

Sharks goalie Brian Miller with the 8 save shutout!  Deuces wild for Ben Haynes and Todd Schurman.  Defenseman Tommy Oswald also with a goal.  No Flyers highlights in this penalty free game.

HABS   2     BRUINS   0

0-0 entering the final stanza – then Sammy Bonanno goes five hole and Kenny Wilkins smokes a shot from the right point for the games scoring.  Dave Gaskey was brilliant in nets with the whitewash!  Bruins puck stopper Mike Schlimgen also with a very strong game in nets!  Another penalty free contest.

HAWKS   4    WINGS   3

Tall about a barn burner!  The Wings tie the game up with 45 seconds left in the game with the goalie pulled on a goal from sub Ken Debus.  At the buzzer – sub Chuck Bowers scores the game winning goal for the Hawks in a stirring victory!  Billy Hagen scores twice for the Hawks.  He was the recipient of a great no look backhand pass from Adam Godard on his first goal!  Adam Godard with the Hawks initial goal.  Fellow subs Paul Violassi and Jimmy Buffett lookalike(See Picture Below) John Zuccarini also tally for the despondent Wings.

WINGS   4      FLYERS   1

Inspired by a surprise pregame locker room appearance by a Superman aficionado(See Picture Below) – Superman stole the show this game!  Making a circus high glove save on Flyers captain Ryan O’Rourke along with several other highlight reel saves!  Subbing For Jimmy George – Paul Violassi with the trick!  Brian Belloli with the Wings final marker.  Ryan O’Rourke with the lone goal of the day for the goal strived Flyers, who are averaging a meager 1.6 goals a game this season.  Returning from an 8 week stint on the DL with a severe hamstring injury, Wings forward Curt Lesnau goes down twice late in the opening period.  The second time was of the violent variety.  Turns out there were two loose blade holder screws.  Not good!  He did not return to the game.

HABS   7    HAWKS   4

These first place French guys are clicking on all cylinders, as they are now undefeated in their past six games!  Scoring machine Sammy Bonanno and sub Mike Lawson both go twine twice.  Singles for Robbie Porter and Jim Chapie.  Robert Stempian with the deuce for the Hawks.  Singles for Adam Godard and sub Chuck Bowers.

BRUINS   1     SHARKS   1

Goalies Brian Miller and Mike Schlimgen were both outstanding today!  Miller only allowing one goal and Schlimgen only three goals in today’s doubleheader!  Forechecking demon Bo Altherr with the lone Bruins goal of the day, in this penalty free game.  The Bruins continue their winter hibernation, as they are now winless in their past seven games!  Scoring a goal a day after his son’s Alex’s birthday and his two goal game of his own for the Detroit Red Wings – Dave Debrincat, who is shown below with grandson Archie.
