THE HOF GOALTENDER WHO’S JERSEY IS IN THE RAFTERS AND THEY HAVE HIM

CATCHING WITH THE WRONG HAND!

THAT AIN’T RIGHT!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

BRUINS   4     HABS   4

Habs jump out to a quick 3-0 lead only to see the Bruins tie it at 3-3 midway in the final period.  Then John “The Little Ball of Hate” receives a perfect pass right on the tape and buries it top shelf for a 4-3 Habs lead.  Bruins Captain Steve Lemieux ties the game up late for the Bruins for the well earned tie.  The Frenchmen dig deep into their minor leagues and find this grizzled veteran player named Rex Baker from their Chicoutimi Quebec farm club, who proceeds to score on his first two shifts of the game!  Tom Hines also with a French goal.  Unfortunately for the Bruins, that tape to tape pass to John Perini was from a Bruins player, who also was on the ice for the other three Habs goals – ouch!  Wearing the best durag in the league – sub Paul “Bret Micheals” Violassi scores twice for the Bruins.  Right defenseman Doug Wargo also with a Bruins goal in this penalty free game.

HAWKS   3    WINGS   1

Hawks take a three zip lead and hold on for the W.  Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins, Chuck Bowers and sub Ken Debus tally for the Hawks.  Sub goalie Billy Papciak with a relatively light workload.  Sub Mike Krueger with the Wings marker in another penalty free game.

SHARKS   5    FLYERS   2

The Sharks win their fifth straight game as they topple the Flyers.  “Black” Jack Priauix, Keith Foucher, Jim Chapie(EN), Mark Munsterman(EN) and sub Matt Lawson with Sharks goals.  The Flyers were able to stop the Sharks and goalie Brian Miller’s three game shutout streak, with goals from Pete Ludwig and sub Justin Brantley.

BRUINS   2     SHARKS   1

The battle for first place as the Bruins leapfrog the Sharks for the top spot!  The game was scoreless until midway through the final period, when Bruins forward Curt Lesnau buries a far side goal post bank shot.  Doug Wargo with a 190 foot off the goal post empty net goal to put the Bruins up 2-0.  Rob Lee scores with 20 seconds left in the game to wreck the Bruins shutout.  Sharks goalie Brian Miller was outstanding this game, as the Bruins decisively owned the territorial advantage for most of the game!  The Bruins had subs for both their centers this game, as Jeff Tracy has been put on the DL with three broken ribs from last weeks nasty collision.  This was a penalty free game.

HABS   4    HAWKS   0

The Habs dominate this game as Rick “Ticker” Chauvin spins the whitewash!  Sub Rex Baker, Al Pyc, Barry Piornack and extremely happy he was playing defense today – Rick Batchelder score for the Habs.  Hawks sub Ken Debus with a solo roughing minor penalty.  Hawks enforcer Jeff Morton incurs a unsportsmanlike minor penalty and then continues to verbally express his derogatory negative dialogue towards the referee and receives a game misconduct and an early game exit three minutes into the game, forcing the Hawks to play the balance of the game with nine players.

FLYERS   4    WINGS   2

The Flyers break their three game losing streak against the goal starved last place Wings.  Sniper Robert Stempien with the hat trick and with a shorthanded goal included!  Sub Adam Godard also with a Flyers goal.  Mike Lawson and sub Bob Watson with the Wings markers.
