SHARKS 2 HABS 2
Da Sharks score twice with just a little over three minutes left in the game to steal a victory away from the Frenchmen! Eddie ‘The Eagle” Higgins and sub Lawson with Sharks markers. “Gentleman” Don Courtley and Jeff Ivory tally for the Habs. Both puck stoppers – Sir Kevin Beebe and Sharks Sting rookie Lipshoz with excellent games in nets!
FLYERS 6 WINGS 1
The Flyers score five times in period one and coast to the W. Digging deep into their minor league’s, the Flyers call up rambunctious winger Chris Isola who produces a two goal game! Singles for Dr. Keri Topouzian, Bob “Bugsy” Watson and Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel. Sub goaler Rick “Ticker” Chauvin with a light workload. Ronnie Meltsner was the only Wing to solve ‘Ticker”.
HAWKS 4 BRUINS 1
With a four point lead into the playoffs, the Hawks up that total in relative ease with the win over the Bruins. Terry Masserant, Steve Orr, Gary Enmark and sub Teddy Evans score for the Hawks. Goalkeeper Bobby Rutkoske was solid between the pipes and picked up an assist to boot. Bruins sub Niecalek with their lone goal.
SHARKS 7 FLYERS 1
The Sharks devour the Flyers in this lopsided contest. Al “Mike” Phipps and Sharks sub Lawson with the deuce. Singles for Eddie Higgins, Ben Haynes and Chris Zanke. Bobby Watson with the Flyers goal.
HAWKS 0 WINGS 0
This doesn’t happen very often in any league! Kudos to both goalies Bobby Rutkoske and after getting beat up in game one, Mike Schlimgen with the double whitewash! Both goalie’s put on a goaltending clinic in this penalty free game!
HABS 5 BRUINS 2
Oh Boy! Mr. Jeff Ivory records his first career five goal game, as the men in yellow had absolutely no answer to the individual wearing number nine and making like Maurice “Rocket” Richard! Nice game Jeff! Bruins sub Paul “Stork” Erickson with both of their goals.
Name the three Red Wing goalies that have won the
Calder trophy as rookie of the year?
Scroll down for the answer.
