FOLLOWING THE DETROIT LIONS DEVASTATING LOSS SUNDAY, I

DECIDED TO CHECK OUT NEXT YEAR’S SCHEDULE.

OOPS – ALL I FOUND WAS THE 1967 SCHEDULE I HAVE!!

HABS    2    FLYERS   1

Moncton call up Larry Rowe and center Sammy Bonanno score within a minute of each other in the first period and sub goalie Billy Papciak does his magic as the Habs abscond the W!  Steve Orr scores late in the game for the Flyers who play a great game and just come up a little short.

WINGS   2    SHARKS   2

Doug “Jeff” Beck scores 36 ticks into the game and Mark Smyth follows up eight minutes later, as Superman and the Wings are looking really good!  Until!  Returning from a lengthy family responsibility – Steve Dietrich and Dave Debrincat score late goals in just over a minutes time for the rousing Sharks tie!

HAWKS   4     BRUINS   1

1-1 entering the final stanza.  Then the Hawks score three times in the final periods first 1:36 to upend the Bruins!  The vaunted GPS line of Adam Godard(1 & 1), Kenny Perko(1 & 1) and Robert Stempian (1 & 2) do the damage!  Sub Chuck Bowers with a single.  Goalie Bobby Rutkoske with his usual strong game in nets.  Ronnie Meltsner with the lone Bruins marker in this penalty free game.

SHARKS   7     FLYERS   1

There was a feeding frenzy this game as Denby alumnus Jimmy Klimkowski goes twine twice for the Fish!  Singles for Al Sparks, Bruce Gooel, Rob Lee, Dave Debrincat and Ben Haynes.  Goaler Brian Miller with a seven save game.  Charismatic Flyers Captain Ryan O’Rouke with their goal.  Captain’s O’Rourke and Dietrich hit the box together with roughing minor penalties.

WINGS   2     HAWKS   2

It happened again to the Wings!  Hawks winger Adam Godard scores with the goalie pulled late in the game for the Hawks tie!  Wings Captain mumbles postgame locker room:  “What does it take to win in this league?”  As the Wings play two good games today, but are now winless in their nine past contests!  Billy Hagen with the Hawks initial goal.  Mark Smith and sub Ken Debus score for the Wings who sported four subs today.  Both goalies – Bobby Rutkoske and Superman with strong games between the pipes!  The below pictured shrimp is compliments of Superman due to shutout number 293 last week.  This was a penalty free game.

HABS   2    BRUINS   1

The first place Habs win another barn burner 2-1 game!  Jim Chapie and sub Larry “School Boy” Rowe score for the Habs.  Pictured below is “School Boys” awesome home outside ice rink, featuring his wife, himself and BSD’S and the Stings Trevor Thompson!  Sub Goalie Billy Papciak with another strong game in nets!  Bruins sub Bob “Bugsy” Watson with their lone goal, as they now drop their fifth consecutive game.
