Brian Miller with a flawless game in nets!  Pat “Crazy Legs” Berry and Bruce “The Enabler” Gooel do the honors for the Fish.  No Flyers highlights.

WINGS    5    HAWKS   2

Once again, the speed disparity was on full display this game, as the speedy Wings play keepaway all game.  On an absolute top shelf laser – Tom Hines, the leagues leading goal scorer Paul Violassi, Al Sparks and the newly turned 70 year old John Perini, with a beautiful backhand shake and bake move, score for the Wings.  The Wings easily killed three penalties.  Doug Beck and Gary Szlanski with the Hawks markers.

HABS   3    BRUINS   1

Tied for first place going into today’s games, the Habs and Wings take care of business in the game ones.  The league’s leading scorer Mike Ala goes twine twice.  Chuck Mouraine with the insurance goal.  Sub Tom Mchugh with the tour du chapeau assist.  “Sugar” John Marchin with a very good game in nets.  Dougie Roehl with the lone Bruins goal in this penalty free game.

HAWKS   3     HABS   3

Oh boy!  Obviously needing to win this game for the top spot in the standings and leading comfortably with a 3-0 lead with six minutes left in the game, the Habs thought they had the game all wrapped up!  The Hawks proceed to score three goals in a 57 second span for a crushing loss – oh, I mean tie for the Habs!  Ronnie Meltsner, Doug Beck and Rick Batchelder score in the 57 second span!  Kenny Wilkins with the Habs first goal.  Mike Ala once again with a two goal game as he receives two beautiful tape to tape passes from the opposition!

WINGS   4    FLYERS   0

The Wings take care of business as they sweep on the day!  Mark Smyth with the trick!  Winger Brian Belloli also goes net.  Rick “Ticker” Chauvin with the well earned whitewash, as he stoned Flyer after Flyer!  In the spirit of the Superman tradition of buying shrimp for his team after a shutout and since Superman was the losing goalie, Ticker was coerced into buying celebratory shrimp for his team next week!  The rare occurrence of not scoring a goal in both games, happened to the Flyers today!

SHARKS   3    BRUINS   2

Genreal Robert E. Lee leads his troops for the Sharks DH sweep today, with a two goal game!  Longtime Oakland Grizzly basketball coach Greg Kampe lookalike(See Picture Below) Bruce Gooel with the Sharks initial goal.  Dougie Roehl and Johnny “On the Spot” Dooley tally for the men in yellow, who drop a deuce today.
