WEEK ONE – PLAYOFFS

HABS   1    SHARKS   0

Playoff hockey at it’s best!  Moncton call up Harke with the games only goal.  Habs net-minder Sir Kevin Beebe was outstanding with the whitewash!  Sharks puck stopper Brian Miller was almost equally outstanding as well.

FLYERS   4    WINGS   0

The Flyers score twice in each period to dismantle the Wings.  Sub butterfly style goaler Superman adds to his burgeoning shutout total with several excellent saves!  Jeff “Dick” Tracy with a two goal game.  Singles for Stevie Lambert and punk rock guitarist Keith Lutz.    No Wings highlights in this penalty free game.

BRUINS   2    HAWKS   1

The Bruins dive deep into their farm system and call up aging and creaky knee goaltender Kirk “Captain America” Larson, who responds with a stellar game between the pipes!  Paul Ericson and John “Hal” McRae both with unassisted Bruins goals.  James George with the lone Hawks marker in this penalty free game.

HAWKS   7   WINGS   3

The Hawks absolutely find their offense in this contest, as scoring machine James George records the hat trick!  Mark Smyth with the deuce.  Singles for Rob “The Rifleman” Duncan and Bruce “Cooler Man” Gooel.  Dave “Buckeye” Wahl with the hat trick assist and a solo roughing minor penalty.  Power play specialist Marty Sell with two man advantage goals for the Wings.  Brian Westenberg with the Wings initial marker.

SHARKS    5   FLYERS   2

Whoa!  The juggernaut Flyers lose only their second game in 30 contests, as the Sharks score four final period goals!  Albeit – the Flyers were minus their starting goalie today Mike Mostyn.  John Perini, Jimmy “One Skate” Sauter, Steve Orr, Jimmy “Boog” Powell and Doug Wargo do the honors for the Fish.  Stevie Lambert and the ageless Joe Plati tally for the shocked Flyers.

HABS   4   BRUINS   3

I’ve said it before and I’m going to say it again!  Come playoff time – watch out for a Kenny “Prime Time” Wilkins Canadians team!  The Habs sweep for the day as they are now tied with the Flyers for the lead in the playoffs with four points apiece.  Courtesy of the regular season leaders Flyers two point head start in the playoff standings.  “Gentleman” Don Courtley, David Walters and subs JP(Top Shelf) and Harke tally for the Habs.  Adam Godard(2) and Paul Ericson with the Bruins goals in this penalty free game.
