MYSELF AND 1973 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR – NEW YORK RANGER – STEVE VICKERS – LAST WEEK AT

12U BASEBALL TOURNAMENT IN COOPERSTOWN NEW YORK!

WINGS  2    BRUINS   2

An extremely entertaining contest, as longtime Bruins Captain Steve Lemieux buries his second goal of the game, late in the final period for the tie!  Chuck Mouraine and Pat Berry were the Wings marksman.  Both puck stoppers – Bruins sub Billy Papciak and the Wings “Sugar” John Marchin were outstanding between the pipes!

HAWKS   5    SHARKS   2

A wild initial stanza – as both teams score twice in a two minute time frame, to enter the final period tied 2-2.  Then the Hawks rattle off three goals for the victory!  Hawks – Billy Hagen, Kenny Perko, sub Scott Leslie and the Todds – Schurman and Hachigan.  Ben Haynes and Dave Debrincat do the honors for the Fish.

HABS   6    FLYERS   3

The story of this game was the four goal effort of Mr. Mike Ala of the Habs!  Great game Mike!  Mike Harke and Robbie Porter with singles.  Ryan O’Rourke, Frank Pedwaydon and Rick Neilson tally for the Flyers.  Flyers sub Tom McHugh(Holding) and Robbie Porter(Hooking) of the Habs both enter the box at the same time.

WINGS   6    SHARKS   3

The first place Wings harpoon the Sharks as six different scorers enter the score sheet.  Wings – Dougie Roehl, Steve Orr, Chuck Mouraine, Dave Speiss, Ronnie Meltnser and Bobby Watson.  Once again –  Dave Debrincat and Ben Haynes score for the Sharks.  Sammy Bonannno with their final marker as the Sharks drop their third straight game.

HAWKS   3    HABS   1

The soaring Hawks(6-0-1 in their past 7 games) upend the French guys.  Billy Hagen, Todd Hachigian and sub Jeff Funk score for the Hawks.  Goalie Mike Haines with an outstanding game between the pipes.  The Hawks are now a single point behind the first place Wings, with one week remaining in the season.  They do not play each other next week.  Robbie Porter with the lone Habs goal.

FLYERS   5    BRUINS   1

The Flyers play an outstanding game, as they finally defeat nemesis sub goal Billy Papciak of the Bruins.  Through the handshake line Flyers Captain Ryan O’Rourke grabs Billy Papciak’s hand and whispers “Finally got ya!”  Mike “Crazy Like a” Fox with a two goal game.  Singles for Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi, Rick Neilson and Frank Pedwaydon.  Sub Ken Debus with the lone Bruins goal.  This was a penalty free game.

Atlanta has had two NHL franchises in the past, and both relocated to Canada.

Give me the full names of the two Atlanta teams and the full names of where they moved to.

The Atlanta Flames played there from 1972 to 1980 before moving to Calgary (Calgary Flames).

The Atlanta Thrashers were based in Atlanta from 1999 to 2011 before relocating to Winnipeg (Winnipeg Jets).
