The Wings topple the Sharks and make it very interesting standings wise. The Wings, Sharks and Habs are all tied for either fourth, fifth or sixth place – depending on your point of view. HABS 5 FLYERS 4
The Habs rock and roll and upend the second place Flyers! A very strong game for the Frenchmen! David Debrincat with the deuce. Singles for Jimmy George, Stevie Lambert and Kenny Wilkins. Center Sal Bonanno scores twice for the Flyers. “Gentleman” Don Courtley and Bruce Buntin with singles. The Habs Dave Herkowitz picks up a solo unsportsmanlike conduct minor penalty, then as he’s leaving the box, he picks up another one! Then Dave comes out of the box again and 13 seconds later picks up a tripping minor penalty! Bye bye Dave as he exit’s the game halfway through the first period! Maybe he had somewhere to go?
Rod Brind’Amour of Carolina just won the Jack Adams award(Coach of the Year).
He is only the third person to win a Stanley Cup as a player and the Jack Adams award with the same team.
