WEEK TWO – PLAYOFFS
FLYERS 1 BRUINS 1
The Bruins completely dominated this game and still found themselves down 1-0 late in the game! Bruins sub Shurman scores off of a face-off win to tie the game up. Flyers goalie Brian Miller was phenomenal in nets as the puck rarely left the Flyers zone! Sam Bonnano with the Flyers unassisted seeing eye goal.
HABS 4 HAWKS 1
Moncton call up Matt Dawson with the tour du chapeau for the Frenchmen! Fellow sub White with the game winning goal. Winger Keri Topouzian with the Hawks marker in this penalty free game.
WINGS 3 SHARKS 1
The Wings and goalie Bobby Rutkoske play their usual defensively smothering game and defeat the host Sharks. Wings sub “Raymond” Berry with their final two goals. Kenny Debus with the Wings initial goal. Steve Dietrich with the lone Shark goal. This was a penalty free game.
WINGS 3 HABS 3
Power forward and power play specialist “Gentleman” Don Courtley scores the man advantage game tying late goal for the Habs! Mike Ala with the Habs first two goals. Mark Smyth scores twice for the Wings and sub Scott Leslie with their middle marker.
FLYERS 4 HAWKS 1
The Flyers score twice in each period for the W. Steve Lemieux, Sam Bonnano, Ryan O’Rourke and an empty net power play goal from Al Phipps round out the Flyers scoring. Once again, the Hawks only find the back of the net once, as Billy Hagen scores a nifty breakaway goal.
BRUINS 2 SHARKS 1
The Bruins remain undefeated in the playoffs as the winless Sharks go in the opposite direction. Bruins puck stopper “Ticker” Chauvin with an excellent game between the pipes! Joe Plati and sub Shurman score for the men in yellow. Sharks sub John Zuccarini with the Sharks marker. Sharks goalie Mike Schlimgen with a very good game in nets!
