1-1 entering the final stanza – then the Hawks rattle off five final period goals! Mark Smyth with the natural hat trick! In an interview postgame Marks says:” What a treat playing with the best passer in hockey – Bruce “The Enabler” Gooel!” Bruce assisted on all of Mark’s goals and had a goal of his to boot. Billy Hagen and longtime Flyer Paulie Polizzi also score. Steve Lemieux with a natural hat trick of his own for the Bruins! Lineman Eddie Higgins with assists on all three goals. This was a penalty free game.

Sniper Ronnie Meltsner ties the game up late for the Flyers as they spread out their scoring as they receive goals from Steve Orr, Adam Godard and Bruce Buntin. Chuck Mouraine scores twice for the Habs. Robbie Porter and Al Pyc with singles.
SHARKS 2 FLYERS 1
The Sharks sweep on the day as the butterfly style of goaltending by Superman stymies the explosive Flyers! Steve “Barney Miller” Dietrich and Doug “Jeff” Beck tally for the Fish. Having a breakout offensive season, Bruce Buntin of the Flyers with his fourth goal of the campaign! Flyers goalie Mike Haines with several spectacular saves! Doug Beck of the Sharks with a solo roughing minor penalty. Same scenario for sub Ken Debus of the Flyers.
HABS 3 BRUINS 1
The Bruins were leading 1-0 entering the final period only to see the Habs score three times for the victory. Chuck Mouriane with the deuce. Moncton call up Paul Vioalssi with the game winning goal. Goalie “Sugar” John Marchin was strong in nets! Scoring all of his teams goals today – Captain Steve Lemieux with the lone Bruins goal, who seem to be suffering the same malady of the their past two seasons – low volume secondary scoring.
HAWKS 2 WINGS 2
Goalies Mike Schlimgen and Bobby Rutkoske take turns swatting away shots. Billy Hagen scores a late Hawks goal for the tie, too keep his first place Hawks undefeated in their past eight games. Doug Wargo with the Hawks initial marker. The speedy and best golfer in the league – Jimmy George with both Wings goals.
