BRUINS   3     HAWKS    3

Jimmy George’s second goal of the game ties it up late for the Hawks.  Mark Smyth with the Hawks middle marker.  Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins, John McRae and sub Lawson score for the Bruins.

SHARKS   3    WINGS   1

Jimmy “Boog” Powell scores the winning and insurance goals for the Fish.  Doug Wargo with the Sharks initial goal.  Brian Miller was stellar in nets for the Sharks.  Pat Collins with the lone Wings marker.  Steve Orr of the Sharks picks up a solo roughing minor penalty.

FLYERS   4    HABS   4

The Frenchmen play a very strong game against these powerhouse Flyers!  Ben Haynes ties it up late for the Flyers.  Ronnie Meltsner gets the party started 28 ticks into the game for the team in orange.  Just over a minute later, Habs sub Rick Warner ties it up.  The Mikes – Ala and Lawson and Kenny “Primetime” Wilkins round out the Habs scoring.  Tommy Trice and Jeff Tracy also with Flyers markers.  Kudos to the Habs, as they gave the Flyers all they could handle today in this penalty free game!

WINGS   5    HAWKS   4

Hawks up 3-0 entering the final period.  The Wings proceed to score five final period goals to steal the W away from the Hawks!  The Wings final two goals which tied and put them ahead, were scored within a minutes span late in the contest.  Pat Collins with the hat trick for the Wings.  Marty Sell and sub Bob “Bugsy” Watson with singles.  Scoring machine Jimmy George with the deuce for the Hawks.  Dave “Buckeye” Wahl and Mark Smyth also with Hawks goals.  The Hawks are now winless in their last three doubleheaders.

FLYERS   4   SHARKS   2

The top spot Flyers remain undefeated in their last 13 games!   Gerry Krause, John Zuccarini, Jeff “Dick” Tracy and sub Paulie “Knuckles” Polizzi tally for the Flyers.  Puck stopper Mike Mostyn was solid between the pipes.  The shifty Steve Orr with both Sharks goals.  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

Bruins up 3-0 entering the final stanza, only to see the Habs roar back to make this a close one!  John “Hal” McRae with the deuce for the Bruins.  Singles for Gary Butyzinski and sub Lawson.  As in game one for the Frenchmen – the Mikes – Ala and Lawson score.  Peter Gibb with the Habs final tally on a laser type shot.  The Habs are now winless in their last nine contests.  The Habs Cam “Steamboat” Lawrence(Body Checking) and the Bruins Paul Ericson(Cross Checking) take a break in the box together.
