Winger Paul Giles scores his first of three goals nine seconds into the game as the Wings dominate with the W!  Al Sparks and Keith Foucher also score for the Wings.  Sub John Higgins with three helpers.  Goaler Bobby Rutkoske with a relatively light workload.  Billy Hagen with the Hawks marker in this penalty free game.

HABS    4    BRUINS   1

Deuces wild for Robert Stempian and John Perini as the Frenchmen play a strong game and defeat the Bruins.  Master facilitator Pat Collins with the tour du chapeau assist.   Bobby Watson with an end to end rush scores the lone Bruins goal.

SHARKS   5   FLYERS   3

A virgin no longer, as the Flyers drop their first game of the season!  General Robert E. Lee leads his troops with a two goal game!  Singles for Eddie Higgins, Ben Haynes and Steve Dietrich.  Goalie Mike Schlimgen was under siege all game and played an outstanding game in nets!  Flyers sub Boice with a two goal game.  Ryan O’Rourke with a single.  No trips to the sin bin for either squad.

Following a stirring in-between game speech by the Hawks Jeff Tracy – the Hawks win their first game of the season!  Rockford call up Mike Garlick with the trick!  Captain Billy Hagen with the deuce.  Singles for Robbie Porter and Keri Topouzian.  Another two goal game for Robert Stempian of the Habs.  Curt Bailey also with the deuce.  Singles for Donald Courtley and Brian Belloli.  This was a penalty free game.

SHARKS   6   BRUINS   4

The red hot Sharks, who are now undefeated in their past five games drown the Bruins!  Two goals apiece for Steve Dietrich and Eddie “The Eagle” Higgins.  Singles for Rob Lee and Bo Altherr.  Bruins – Joe Plati, Dave Debrincat, Ronnie Meltsner and the Robs – Middleton and Halbhuber.  Ronnie Meltsner and Terry Masserant both with roughing minor penalties.
