WINGS    4    BRUINS   0

It had to happen sometime!  The winless Wings are winless no more!  Sporting four subs today and completely dominating the Bruins behind the 15 save shutout effort of Superman!  Wings sub John Zucchini with a two goal game.  Singles for fellow sub Ken Debus and left winger Curt Lesnau.  Pictured below is the team swag worn by Superman, for his 290th career shutout!  No Bruins highlights, but a little nostalgia.  Lloyd Rogers who was subbing for Captain Steve Lemieux today, centered left winger Joe Plati.  Joe played with Lloyd’s Dad, Lloyd Sr. back in the early 90’s at Fraser HockeyLand!

HAWKS    1    FLYERS   0

Robert Stempian scores 25 ticks into the game for the Hawks and little did anyone know, that would be the end of the scoring in this game!  Detroit native goalie Bobby Rutkoske with the well earned whitewash!  Flyers Captain Ryan O’Rourke instructed his team to show up 20 minutes early today, so he could check out his teammates photos on their phone, to ensure they have the moral integrity that he himself possesses.  Everyone passed!

HABS   1    SHARKS   0

Another 1-0 game as Habs goalie Dave Gaskey stands on his proverbial head and stones the Sharks time after time!  18 ticks into the game, Sammy “The Bull” Bonanno weaves his way through the Sharks defense and buries the games only goal!  No red flags on the beach in this penalty free game.

HAWKS   6    BRUINS   2

The blinged up Mike Harke scores a minute into the game for the Bruins.  It was all downhill from there, as the Hawks score twice in a two minute span, two minutes after Harke’s goal and the rout was on!  Captain Billy Hagen with the trick!  Robert Stempian with the deuce.  Keith Foucher goes top shelf.  Power winger Kenny Perko had a stone cold breakaway and rifles the puck off the post for a no goal!  The Hawks are undefeated in their past five games.  Bruins sub John Higgins with their other goal as they drop a deuce in decisive fashion today.

HABS   4     FLYERS   1

Sammy Bonanno scores early in the game again for the Habs – this time just under the two minute mark!  Robbie Porter, Kenny Wilkins and Timmy “Dutch” Schultz also with French goals as they win their third consecutive game.  Winger Mike Fox with the only Flyers goal of the day.

SHARKS   3    WINGS   2

Let’s entitle this game – MANAGEMENT AWAKENINGS!  The Sharks were shutout in game one and scoreless in the first period of game two.  The ever dangerous Rob Lee was playing defense.  Immediately after he was moved up to left wing to start the second period, the Sharks score three times and win the game!  Similar scenario with the Wings.  As depicted in Curt’s Corner preseason preview – defenseman Mark Smyth was moved up to forward today and buries two goals in this game!  Sub Tom Mchugh with the Sharks first goal.  Ben Haynes assisted by Rob Lee and with the game winning goal – Bruce Gooel scores on a great behind the net pass from Rob Lee.  As in game one, the Wings dominated the territorial advantage this game, but Sharks goalie Brian Miller was outstanding with a 45 save game!  His glove hand was on fire, as he even showed it to one frustrated Wings shooter.

Who was the first NHL player to skate the Stanley Cup around the arena?
